Even if he qualifies and fails, it will be great because it will spark some interest in an Olympic event that hardly anyone gives a fuck about.

Yeah, it would be HUGE if he were just to qualify for the Olympics, Angle is a real American hero already, would be such an inspiring story if he could do it again. Sadly I don't like his chances of qualifying, time and professional wrestling have not been kind to Kurt.

Speaking of Angle

Kurt Angle was arrested last night by Virginia state troopers on a driving while intoxicated charge. He was taken to Warren County Jail just after 2 a.m. last night and released at 3:31 a.m. after posting a $2,000 bond. The story was reported by www.tmz.com

Angle had been wrestling in Woodstock, VA earlier that night.

Angle is on one year probation, and had a ten day setence suspended for a similar offense in North Dakota from March, which he pleaded guilty to.

Angle is a fucking nutcase... how many DUI/DWI arrests does he have now? On top of his drug charges and everything else? To top it all off for TNA, aren't they bringing Jeff Hardy back too? Say what you will about WWE, they got it right with their wellness policy... it'd be great for the industry if TNA could get their act together and do the same.

Something I've picked up on, it's probably been noted already but the WWE have written all the old guys out the story for now? Kane, Big Show, Undertaker & Rey Mysterio have all bene 'Injured' to make way for the younger talent as of late. Obviously I'm in favour of this, but when do you think they will return? Do you think they will come straight back in and feud with the respective people who injured them?

I agree... there's so many good angles kicking off at the moment, I hope The Miz & R-Truth stay as a tag team for awhile, and challenge for the tag titles a few times. Cause we all know the tag division is dying in WWE.

DYING or has been fucking DEAD for years?

Kane and Show will be back soon enough, and I assume they'll feud with Mark Henry. Taker has been doing other things while he's been away and from what i can gather has been enjoying it (his property thing, scubadiving) but he'll be back at some point to build up Wrestlemania which may be his last. Rey's having knee surgery at the moment. The younger guys are getting a good bit of exposure, Miz, Truth, Bourne, Kofi etc for this tag feud which is fine. As well as Dolph, Swagger etc. It's good to see.

As most of us probably already surmised, the Nash "firing" and subsequent release announcement on WWE.com is a work. I'd fully expect Nash to get involved in the HHH vs. Punk match at Night of Champions.

It was also pretty awesome to see Zack Ryder get a full-on video package before his match with Lawler vs. the Otunga and McGillicutty.

Yeah I also suspect the Nash 'firing' is a work. Maybe as much as he just 'turns up' at Night Of Champions in the crowd and either costs Triple H or screws Punk to get his job back. About time Z was recognized for his fine work in the WWE, with his merchandise sales and his show on Youtube.

This will make you laugh, couple of years ago on the Dave and Bryan show this happened. Dave's habit of having no concept of made up and joke situations has hilarious results.

You're probably right... the place I read it was one of those wrestling sites that spreads around premium content from other sites. They were sourcing Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who is pretty much one of the best in the business for finding that kind of information. He, Dave Scherer, and Dave Meltzer are pretty much the cream of the crop. I was a subscriber of PWI for a number of years, and they were pretty much right on with about 99% of what they said.

Sometimes sites like Wrestlezone like to credit Dave (Meltzer) for stories they make up and/or stories Dave never actually made mention of in the Observer. It was funny once, Bryan Alvarez and Dave take it in turns to do the free daily update and a story Bryan broke about Batista a couple of years back (the plan to turn him heel I think) but Wrestlezone credited it to Dave and the next day Bryan went ballistic on the radio, not having a go at Dave's credibility at all, but WZ's inability to get something right. Wrestlezone then published an apology to Bryan a few hours later. Another good one, at a UFC show in October 2009 Dave met Dixie Carter who was on the verge of announcing Hogan had signed with TNA, she's all excited and stuff, the only problem was Dave actually knew beforehand (his leak in TNA told him) but he didn't have the heart to tell her he knew. So he went along with it.

The confrontation between Hunter and Punk last night was amazing... you'd think that it was a complete shoot from watching it. I think we're going to end up with Punk beating Hunter at Night of champions, and Laurinaitis taking over in the storyline. I still think that they should've had him come out as having been the anonymous GM.

I'm still very much undecided about who wins/under what circumstances. I still expect Kevin Nash to get involved in some way.

The confrontation was really good, the highlight of a fairly lackluster Raw, it was very well scripted and the mic's going off was a good touch.

I have no doubt that Nash will get involved, and it'll come out that Johnny Ace was behind it in some way shape or form to begin with. Because he felt like he should've been given the position over Hunter in the first place. I just love the worked shoot aspect of this whole storyline, and the fact that it's pretty much taken over as the top storyline on RAW, even more so than the title.

Yeah it's not the first time that the main feud has overshadowed the Title, not a bad thing really given the quality of said storylines both now and in the past. Plus it's not like the Title doesn't have it's own storyline, it certainly does. I can see your plan working regarding Johnny Ace being the man behind it all.

I personally think HHH will win at Night of Champions, reason being... he's not long held his role as COO so it would seem pointless to have him lose it so soon? Plus I cant see him fighting on a regular basis again so I would be interested to see what role he plays in the company if he loses? I personally see HHH winning this one, then having 2 or 3 more matches against Punk over the coming months, ending with a Hell in a Cell at Armageddon in December. That way HHH keeps his role and the feud had a good run out. Then I see the McMahon-Helmsly error come back into play in some way. Either way it's shaping up to be a pretty good storyline if they can keep it going.

I read Nash was filming a movie currently and the producers didn't want him doing any wrestling during the shoot. Didn't notice if anyone already posted that.

That probably explains why they had to change the storyline and pull him out of that match with Punk at Night of Champions! Didn't know this so thanks for posting :)

I think I called the Johnny Ace/Nash/HHH/Punk angle. :24: RAW was pretty decent tonight... I didn't see the PPV, though I heard it was pretty good.
