In what respect is it different than a non-skeptic's code of life??
Pretty similar on the big ones like murder, stealing, cheating and lying. Check out my OP.

Your commandments won't work till you show us your creatures
Hebrews 9. Right there is your revision of the Ten Commandments. Jesus did away with the Laws of Moses after his death.

Then why do Christians want to display them in USA court houses? If we're going to display them then we should at least revise them to match USA law.
''did away'' and ''after death''...doesn't this seem to be something like an oxymoron?
The problem with the original ten commandments is they promote religious intolerance. If you look at my revisions to the ten commandments then you will see I have removed the intolerance.
Religious intolerance has caused a lot of fighting in the past. But today, with nuclear weapons, the stakes are much higher. We ignore religious intolerance at our own peril.
I thought I'd take a crack at writing the Ten Commandments just for fun. Take a look below. Do you think I would make a good Moses?
Moses: 1) You shall have no other gods before me.
Mine: 1) Freedom of religion is important. Do not punish anyone solely on the basis of religion.
Moses: 2) You shall not make for yourself a carved image.
Mine: 2) Art is great! Do not punish anyone because of their love for art.
Moses: 3) You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
Mine: 3) What you say is more important than how you say it. The meaning of your words should show kindness to one another.
Moses: 4) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Mine: 4) All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Do not overwork your employees.
Moses: 5) Honor your father and your mother.
Mine: 5) Return kindness with kindness. Respect your friends and family.
Moses: 6) Thou shall not murder.
Mine: 6) Do not murder.
Moses: 7) Thou shall not commit adultery.
Mine: 7) Do not cheat.
Moses: 8) Thou shall not steal.
Mine: 8) Do not steal.
Moses: 9) You shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Mine: 9) Do not tell lies that hurt others.
Moses: 10) You shall not covet your neighbor's possessions.
Mine: 10) Work hard to earn the things you want. Dare to dream big!
Of course, we need more than ten commandments but this is a start.
