Vertigo sounds like a solid choice. I'd also like to suggest, A clockwork orange, I find it very thought provoking and ahead of its time, raising real issues about punishment/ rehabilitation and just what the fuck exactly we are trying to do when sending people to prison.

When I saw A Clockwork Orange years ago I didn't like it. Mind, I wasn't such a movie fan back then either so I wasn't ready for anything challenging or "slow." I should re-watch it sometime to see what i think now, but as it stands, it's one of the only Kubrick movies I don't like.

So, about this club... everyone who hasn't nominated a movie do that now... in a few days I can start the poll or something.

I'll nominate a movie, but should it be one we've already seen or no?

It's up to you really. If there's a movie you know of that you've heard a lot about and think it's worth a month long discussion then that's cool. I haven't seen Vertigo but I nominated that and I did that because it's Hitchcock, so can you really go wrong?
I'd rather watch a movie I haven't seen, really, but I also nominated Stalker and that's my favourite movie.

I think we've kicked around the idea of a different person each month and I'm not sure how well it flew. Again, it's kind of up to everybody to decide what to do and since this thread doesn't get many replies it's kind of difficult to come up with anything lol

I don't care how we do it though. I just want to start it. I'd be down for discussing both movies as well.

Kidding, of course. So as of now we're gonna discuss two movies:

Vertigo. The one from 1958, directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
A Clockwork Orange. I think there's only one movie with that name but just in case it isn't, it's the one directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1971.

I'm sure everyone knows what both of those movies are but I wouldn't want someone to pick up the wrong one by accident.

Well they'll be the movies of the month for August so you'll have all of August to discuss them, but once I make the thread you can jump into the discussion whenever. I might make the thread soon so as soon as it's up then feel free to talk.
