Yer,....damn they would make better parents than some i could think of...

As long as that child is brought up with love and structure...thats absolutely no reason why not.

Hell yes!
Why not?

shouldn't a child be given the same opportunities as you and me had....well me at least....with both mom and dad and not given the channel of the lifestyle of Same Sex "gay" couples. Having to be put through the gauntlet that both of us know a child would go through with same sex parents....I know with the right amount of love a same sex couple could take care of a child eazily...but what about the child is my question.....what about thier perception on life with a gay couple as parents????Shouldn't they be given the same opportunities as we had as a child and the choice we made on our own?????

Well, considering half the population nowadays is raised by single parents..and dont get the best of lifestyles...i know if i die, id prefer my children to go to a loving family, gay or not....

As i said, it doesnt make an ounce of difference whether there gay/straight/single/bi....if they are loved, then its a family unit...WHATEVER!!;)

Yes they should be allowed to..

1) I know tons of single parents... with a gay couple there would be two parents that loves the child.
2) There are tons of kids out there without families and not all gay couples want an infant adoption!
3) They would make awesome parents because they wanted the child. Do you know how many people out there have kids they don't even want!?!?!?!

It's not a lifestyle.. I really wish people would stop fucking calling it that!:mad

There is tons of stigma and teasing for kids that have mixed race parents. Are interracial couples not allowed to have kids as well?

I think daz is saying that he's concerned about the influence on a young mind.

On the flipside, if a child knows no different, then, no harm, no foul... however...

Kids are mean. Plain and simple. When they reach school age, they can be tormented by their peers over numerous things. Take clothes for example, if a child isn't wearing something that's considered to be 'the fashion' then they get lumped into the 'have nots'. Or hair styles. If you're not wearing the latest style, you're treated differently. I personally witness it myself with the children in my area.

Then, there's things like 'Fathers Day', where the little ones make things for their Daddy's at school. Could get dicey for the child of gay parents.

It's a delicate topic. One of which, I wouldn't want to have to explain.

What gay couples do, is none of my business.

Kids get picked on because they have glasses, freckles, a little overweight, a lisp and so many reasons.

Loving parents regardless of sex, race or anything else like that should make a difference. YOU cannot change other people all you can do is love your kids and teach them not to judge just because there is a different home life of other children.

That's what I just said - 'kids are mean'. :)

Is someone being small minded? I must have missed that?

yes.

Parenting is parenting... and if the parents have the right set of mind it should not matter what their sexual preference is.
and yes even though their sexual rpeference is different than ours, it doesnt mean they dont have the right set of mind.

it's a choice but think about it...the choice becomes a lifestyle the shit you have to put up with as a gay couple makes it just that....and to put a child through that which even some adults can't withstand is plain stupid to me....but thats just my opinion...:D
