I dont think it is

They are both done for religious and cultural purposes..

Those are just two of the reasons. I haven't axed my mom why I was done but I'm sure if I did the reply would go something like this. Well Guyzerr we had it done because for people of our / your generation it was traditional. Besides that we did it for appearance and cleanliness.

Just because one is done at a later age, doesnt make that much of a difference in my eyes.:dunno

According to everything I've read and heard the pain is supposed to be almost unbearable if it's done at a later age. Having caught my jackhammer in a zipper at least two times as a kid that I can remember I can vouch for the fact that getting clipped as an adult just wouldn't happen to me. Damn that hurt and I can remember the incidents like it was yesterday.

Circumcision is standard procedure in these parts. (Play on words... ;))

Anywho..... I remember when my son was born. He was probably about 2 minutes old when the doctor asked us if we wanted him circumcised. Hubby was circumcised.... So.... We agreed yes.

I remember the day they took him from my room and the nurse said it was time for the 'procedure'. I was freaking out!!!!!!!!!!

I left my door open.... They took him just down the hall to where it was going to be done. I heard his cries and burst out crying myself.

...... but when they brought him to me right afterwards.... he was sleeping soundly. Apparently.... just like when I gave birth to the little guy.... the pain of it all vanishes and life moves on.

I've never been with an uncircumcised penis..... :ninja

Oh.... and my brother was born at my Grandparent's house. He was one of those real quick labor/births. No time for the ambulance or police car. Hence.... He wasn't circumcised for some reason. But..... when he was about 9 years old... he got an infection in that area.... and the doctor suggested to my mom that he get circumcised to prevent this from happening again.

So... dad and mom said okie dokie.... and it was done. I do not have details of how he reacted nor do I even remember.

I do know though that to this day he swears the doctor's hacked off a bit of his penis! I laughed so hard when he first said that.... but he was being serious. I pity the women he was with..... Unless of course he knew how to use what was left of this doctor's hack job! Bwahahahahahahaha....

Brothers! Gotta love 'em...... :)

That's what I'm saying, an uncut penis just doesn't look right! There is evidence to suggest that there could be health benefits to having the procedure, and as far as I know there aren't any drawbacks to it(I could be wrong, just saying that as far as I know there aren't) I don't think of it as "Mutilation" I think of it as a legitimate medical procedure, and I feel that parents should have the right to choose if their child is to be circumcised or not.

I agree  there are far more healthier benefits to circumcised over uncircumcised. The uncircumcised poses much more infection problems and to make things worst, the excessive foreskin impedes a guy from feeling a more pleasurable sexual act. It's much more hygienic too for a male to have circumcised penis as gunky :yuk: stuffs can get dislodged there. Imagine having to do a Bj ( for those who do :p) with all those yucky stuffs :yuk:

Its VERY hard to find a doctor here that WILL do it.

Its unneccessary and barbaric IMO.

(Notice the IMO)

I have seen the procedure for both infant and adult circumcision and imo it's much more barbaric when the guy turns adult to have the procedure done! Imagine the embarassment on their faces! I've seen it all and those adult guys undergoing that procedure can't even look at you straight in the eye due to their embarassment

The procedure btw for an infant is simple as there's not much foreskin that needed to be taken out
compared to when done on an adult patient. It's as simple as cutting the umbilical cord which IMO the latter
is much more painful for the baby. :( the skin btw doesn't have a lot of nerve endings hence lesser pain
during the procedure which becomes the disadvantage for an adult patient as then the skin on the male's genitalia is now much more sensitive as it naturally grows to be after puberty :)

I can see where you're coming from there, I just don't see any drawbacks to having the procedure done, I feel it should be the parents choice.[/QUOTE

apparently if you get it snipped off it becomes less sensitive because it is used to exposure. a draw back could be lessened sexual pleasure.

anyways over here it is very rare to circumcise

That's simply not true at all.

Natural penises are not difficult to clean in the least, in fact, it's quite pleasurable to do so. I've never heard of a single infection that anyone has caught because of being natural. The body is very well equipped to deal with that kind of thing in such a sensitive area.

It's also no more hygienic to be circumcised. The build up that occurs under the foreskin isn't dirt at all - it's called smegma, and it's a natural anti-bacterial agent that actually helps protect the penis.

From all of the information I've read, there is really no benefit to being natural or circumcised. It makes little difference.

I'd never circumcise my sons. I think it is utterly unnecessary, unless for an actual medical reason. Especially as complications can occur, as they can with any surgery.

I only skimmed through the replies but I don't think anyone mentioned David Reimer. Due to a blotched circumcison, he lost his penis and it affected his whole life. He's an extreme example of something going wrong with circumcision. Here is the wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Reimer

Very true. It could easily be argued that the female has much higher chance of things like infection and stuff. If you're going to cut blokes for hygiene, then you have to cut women too.

I am so sorry but that idea doesn't coincide with normal human anatomy and functionality of an organ :( :surrender
Foreskin which is taken out during circumcision is just foreskin which is excessive skin.

Which place ( State/ Country ) is that if you don't mind me asking??! Am just curious. Ty

Any guy with foreskin will tell you it's anything BUT "excessive" skin. It's an important part of sexual function, feels great when touched and protects the glans when not in use.

Based on anatomy and physiology of a female genitalia which part do you suggest should be cut?

Jesus. Poor bloke.

Just curious if you have any idea as to how much percentage among men who had circumcision, had this same circumstance as this bloke had?
