Conservatives and Bush are like oil and water. He was no conservative and neither was the republican congress.

Sure different parties can have agendas that have effect. But the bottom line is the politicians are bought and paid for by somebody long before they get to DC.

And they will do the finger test to see which way the wind of public discontent is moving to control how far off the deep end they will go. You can bet in 3 years if the economy is still in the tank and Obamas proven to be a disaster that the left will dump him. We are no where near as liberal a nation as the democrats think they are. California the bastion of liberal lunacy recently proved that at the ballot box.

I agree, a politician has sold their soul long before getting to any senior position in government.

I personally think that the economy is showing signs of recovery (In Australia at least), we only lost 1,700 jobs in May, with unemployment levels actually falling the month before (if I recall correctly), and the economy actually grew last quarter, albeit being very small.

I'm not sure about the United States though, I recall hearing that economists working for the financial institutions saying that the economy may recover by next year, but I don't really trust anything coming from them.

many are predicting the recession will end in the 4th quarter. Problem is it will likely be an L shaped rather than a bell shaped recovery. Gonna be a long climb back. In Michigan I am thinking another 2-3 years of recession.

I think oil price can be a good indicator of economic recovery. Price is now hovering around $70. When price hits $100 then I guess its a a good sign of full recovery.

I said pro-business-only. So you think Bush was still there, he'd be fighting for universal health care? So much for your deductive reasoning. ;)
Your focus is too small. What does universal care mean to a politician? Power. Control. Elimination of competition. Increasing the population's dependence on federal gov't..

Bush et al did the same thing through manipulating the real estate market.
Federal takeover of education, healthcare, aoon to be internet, etc etc et.

There's not a hair's breadth of real difference between Bush and Obama. Same goals; different rhetoric.

Sadly, that is appearing to be true. But, I'm still giving Barack one year before I totally judge the man.

Hey, at least it's kinda proof there is no difference in the parties now. They're both the "War" party and are personally profiting from it and these bailouts..

No wonder they view us all as Useful Idiots.
