Selective Abortions?

Why would/should she be treated any different than any other mother when concering abortion? Women who undergo fertility treatment spend thousands of their own dollars out of pocket (insurance doesn't touch it) .. if they want to make that decision and risk throwing all that money away .. that's their choice.
 
Selective abortion is very risky and not worht it if you are going through fertility treatments to have kids. Most women who are have been trying to get pregnant for at least a year or 2 unsuccessfully, often longer. If you were trying so hard for something would you really want to put ALL your children at risk just to have less? A lot of the time when they do this, all the fetuses die. Also, if too many babies are made, lots of time natural selection takes over and one or some die anyway on their own. With women who are ahving trouble already, i dont see why they would put themselves at further risk to never being able to have kids again...many women who abort aren't able to have kids later.

That isn't why a mother who finds out she is carrying 7 babies would abort .. #1. that is very traumatic on a person's body .. and also their psyche and #2. it could put a family in finacial ruins trying to support 8+ family members. Hard to tae care of that many family members on one salary (daycare wouldn't be an option).

That being said .. I don't think it happens very often, for the exact reasons I mentioned in my first post .. and that Clare did in hers.
