Watched SoccerAid. Much of it passed me by because it wasn't really a football match (I know, i know, it wasn't about that, and rightfully so) but it was fun enough.

But anyway Clarence Seedorf was just mesmeric, what a player to watch, even still. Some team, somewhere, has to take a punt on him. Yeah he's 36 but he's still one of the classiest players going, still has skills and talents, and is available for nothing, there is nothing bad in signing him, even for a couple of seasons.

Yeah shame that, heard him on the radio this morning talking about the whole thing, shame for him.

Hopefully Gordon Ramsey's okay, went off with a nasty looking injury.

Van Der Sar looked great drool (1).gif, what a keeper.

In fairness I like Heskey. Yeah he's good for the lolz at times and the fact he isn't very good, but he does seem to be a genuinely nice bloke.

Fuck this situation right now.. Rant incoming...

A year a go to the day we won the play-off final and got promoted to the premier league. Now this. Brendan Rodgers goes to London to meet with Liverpool. Currently situation is he's either on his way to Swansea/already there/been there to talk with the chairman Huw Jenkins. According to SSN he's said he wants the Liverpool job but hasn't been offered it yet. Lots of places already saying it's a done deal, though.

Right, first, I never want anyone in my team that doesn't want to be there. So please, if that the intention, then just go. Not sure why he just extended his contract though if he really does want to leave. He wouldn't talk to Liverpool last week, but now it seems like he was just waiting to see how the Martinez this would play out before speaking up. And the fact that Liverpool is going to announce a new manager Friday makes it seem like it was all planned out before hand behind the scenes. Now they could be playing their way out of paying the compo to Swansea?

Second, I'm so sick of Swansea being used as a stepping stone for everyone. Martinez had some "long term plan" for us then the next week he fucked off to the premier league for a bigger pay check. Brendan Rodgers admitted that before Swansea took him, he couldn't even get an interview for jobs in league 1! Just a bunch of rich guys with fishing rods dropping their hook into a pond of teams that does the grafting, then take what they want.

When Martinez left he took a lot of players and staff with him, Rodgers doing the same could really fuck us up. Our big deal with Gylfi has been accepted but he hasn't signed yet.. one of the main reasons he wanted to stay was because of Rodgers. Few other players could possibly leave if Rodgers goes.

However, we only finished five fucking points behind Liverpool and took 4 points from them last season. Dammit. I have every faith in Huw Jenkins and the board that if needs be, they can find another very good manager, we play nice football in Swansea, and finishing 11th in their first season in the premier league must be pretty inviting to some managers.. if it comes down to searching for another manager, getting the right man could mean certain players stay instead of walking..

Time will tell.

Liverpool are a big important club. Not United, Barca or Madrid big, but their name carries some weight still. They also have money to splash about. Teams like Swansea are always going to lose their players/managers to teams like Liverpool; that is unlikely to change in the near future.

When Martin O'Neil left Wycombe; we could have complained till the cows came home. But it's better to be incredibly thankful that we were lucky enough to have a manager of that quality who drove us up to greater heights, and created a platform for the future.

I'll admit that he wasn't my first choice of manager and probably not 'quality' enough for Liverpool, but give him a chance at Liverpool further himself. I'll back him until he leaves, as I believe he's a brilliant manager. I don't think he'll take players for Swansea, heck he'd probably just leave them there and enjoy watching them play when he's got the chance just to see what he's done with the club. I think he'll get a great ovation when he returns to Swansea, though I hope Swansea don't get relegated because of this but instead they push forward using Brendan's legacy (albeit a year) to carry themselves foward.

Fenway will give him plenty of time, or so I should hope, and I hope the 'fans' give him time too as I believe he'll work wonders for Liverpool.

Rodgers needs time, and to get this I think the fans need to have a realistic target. Right now Liverpool are at about the same level as a Newcastle, just below Spurs and maybe Arsenal, and certainly nowhere near the top 4 places. If they can see that top 6 is good for now, and move on from there, but they have to take it slowly. He'll sign his own players and have his own ideas, but it needs to be a slow process.

The problem is, Liverpool fans aren't that patient. Plus they're in the Europa League, which is a twat to have to balance with the league games (Thursday/Sunday)

To be honest, most 'new generation' fans aren't patient and want instant-success and I should know as I've been more into football from the turn of the centuary and then Liverpool started to win trophies and I wanted more, but recently I've taken a step back and wanted to give Roy and Kenny time. Yes, we deserve to be in the Champions League on name-sake but we're not gonna get there without building a team to get there.

"King Kenny" takes Liverpool to two cup finals and they win one. They sack him. Rodgers will need all the luck he can get.

Bookies stopped betting on our new manager, favourite is Graeme Jones, fuck that.

The League Cup will be known (sponsorship reasons) as the Capital One Cup from next season.

Liverpool are the current holders of the COC, nice.
