Real Football (Soccer to you Yanks) Thread

Chelsea are in a world of trouble lately. Usually I'm one to say give a manager a chance but they have to sack Boas... people have managed Chelsea in the past with pretty much the exact same players to work with and did a good job. Time for him to pack his bags and go.

Nobody's going to succeed at Chelsea until they get rid of the likes of Terry and Lampard, players who run the dressing room. It doesn't help he's a young manager with little experience at a top level and certainly not any managing players like those two. They need a huge overhaul of the squad.

Maybe Capello launched his unwavering support of Terry to make his life a little easier if he ever got offered the Chelsea job.... Now there's a thought lol

I think Chelsea need to get more attacking players, one's who can actually score. Torres isn't the player they thought he was and they lost Anelka because Torres was more favored, Sturridge is alright and I can see him becoming a truely great player. It's going to be hard to get the top-class players that they need because Chelsea ain't the force they used to be.

They defo need to clear out the old farts in the team, keep Sturridge playing and give Lukaku a run out! They should sell Torres whilst they can still get abit for him. They should have approached Tevez when they had the chance :)

Not that I care for Chelsea... Liverpool through & through.

Chelsea should get rid of Torres, Drogba and Kalou. Keep Sturridge, he's very good and Chelsea's best striker I feel. They could try and buy Soldado from Valencia, he'd do well for them, as well as maybe Cavani from Napoli. Go back to 4-4-2 because they are too slow to make 4-3-3 work now. Looking at Chelsea's squad I'd get rid of the following.

David Luiz
Lampard
Torres
Drogba
Mikel
Terry
Ferreira
Kalou
Hilario

And buy better players with the money and the additional money Chelsea have.

Couldn't agree more! They should jump in and try and buy Eden Hazard from Lille! Cavani is a huge shout, he'd be a spot on signing for Chelsea!

Get rid of Luiz's hair first.
Lampard is past it and should be a bench player, like Carragher has for this season.
Torres is the biggest flop in history.
It'll be hard to sell Drogba as I think that given the right team changes and formation he'd be a powerhouse for two more seasons.
Mikel should of stayed at Manchester United.
Terry is getting on a bit, reside him to the bench with Lampard.
Ferreira is overrated.
Kalou is overrated.
Hilario isn't up to standard.

To this day I can't fathom how we got £12m for Mikel, he's shit.

(For those that don't know the story we signed him in 2006, but then Chelsea claimed they had signed him, long story short Chelsea agreed to pay us £12m and his club at the time, Lyn Oslo, £4m)

Thanks for clearing that up, because I was about to comment saying I dont recall him ever playing for united. I was temporarily baffled.

Patrice Evra played for Monza! But only played 3 games before moving back to France. I've found him on Player Manager 2000 in the Monza team but he's a STRIKER! Trying to sign him with a team in Serie C1/B, Cronte, with a bank balance of just under £500,000 and Monza want £4.9m for him. :\

were united trying to be flash and wipe the floor with ajax?

Oh dear :D

Yep, Evra started as a striker, before being converted into a winger, and at some point a left back, though you can tell he used to be a winger because he can get forward well and cross well. He's even played left wing for us once or twice.

That I didn't know, which is a wonder to why he had the highest (possible) pace and stanima in that game. I tried to find him on Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001, when he played for Nice, but couldn't even find Nice. :\ But I found Diego Forlan and a bunch of other players like Dunga, Weah, Xabi Alonso but no Pepe Reina.
