Real Football (Soccer to you Yanks) Thread

that liverpool penalty, its actually a good talking point as to whats a handball, now if you see it again, forget that it hits the leg first.....look at where the arm was when the ball struck it,it was directly in front of his face, now i always thought that a player was allowed to protect his face from being struck by the ball, and if thats still the case it wasn't a penalty

I'm going to take no notice form closet Man Utd fans who say it wasn't a penalty, its as boring as farting to be honest
claiming anyone who supports the Suarez ban is a closet utd fan just because the decison involved a Utd player is laughable, and really just reinforces the notion that Liverpool fans are whiny and play the victim card way too often...imho people who support the suarez ban are simply fans of the fair play and the game

What if I were?

well let me tell you,i've supported my club for over 40 years,in that time i've never once wore another clubs colours,i've seen good and bad times..and regarding our current state of affairs, you've done your fair share of needling..but let me tell you.i'll never disown my club,i'll have sky blue blood if we were in the blue square league having local derbies with nuneaton and bedworth..could you say that?....no you couldn't,you'd jump on another bandwagon that passes your way...now i really do find being called a supporter of another club offensive

If a ball hits the hand, intentionally or not when it was goal bound, that is a penalty, thats my reading on that law of the game, anyway.

That should be the law, I think. But it's not. Here is the actual law (Law 12 of Football) "No player shall deliberately handle the ball"
The handball law, as we can see, is completely stupid, 99% of the time their is no intent to handle the ball. Only in extremely rare cases (such as Suarez at the WC) does a player deliberately handle the ball.

I still support Liverpool :dunno I'm not doubting you've supported Coventry for that long, but it seems when ever there is a contentious issue with regards to Liverpool, you always seem against them for some strange reason

Man Utd fans never play the "victim card" right?

No club can ever come as close to Liverpool to playing the victim card. They could lose 17 players to a mystery illness, have 45 goals a season disallowed wrongly, have 14 players sent off a season wrongly, lose a round the world yacht race due to high tides and get robbed at gunpoint in their ticket office and they still wouldn't come anywhere near.

We've had bad decisions against us this season but we're still where we are and it hasn't affected us that much. Shit happens.
