But there would have been much more interest shortly before the election concerning an Obama response if the attack had been made public in a timely fashion.
As an issue of conflict over international waters, it might be 'blown off' by many because there was no potential loss of life.....but it does become an issue of manipulating the press and the public before a general election.
What would Obama do in a similar incident that involved loss of life?
