because evolution doesn't work at a moment's notice. Some evolutionary processes take LONG periods of time. We could very easily be going through the process to make us immune to the aforementioned carcinogens as we speak, but at a very slow pace. Plus, as far as I know, evolution doesn't make a species adaptive to EVERYTHING. Somethings take more time or don't happen at all in SOME cases.Okay, I am going to throw a curveball for everyone, if I may be so bold.
IF.....And I repeat IF evolution is a valid concept:
Why have humans not developed an immunity to the depleting amount of OXygen in the atmosphere, why have we not developed a resistance to known carcinogens that we have been breathing for all of these years.
Basically why have we not yet evolved to the point where we can oppose some of the natural and un-natural elements that threaten our very existence?
Plus I don't see why you use "IF", evolution is pretty much proven to be fact.
