I was watching a show about a guy who was a serial murderer and rapist. He raped prostitutes, and sometimes murdered them. And it got me to thinking about the women crying about her rape on the tv, she is a prostitute right? She has sex with 50 strangers everyday, would it really be that upsetting to forcibly have sex once? He wasn't brutal or anything, just forced sex. Of course, he deserve to be punished just the same, but I'm not sure how much the prostitute was crying out of pain, or just for sympathy. And she wasn't a young either, like one of those old 50 year old ones. It would seem to me that it wouldn't effect her nearly as much as an average women....
Even though she is a prostitute, there is still a certain degree of consent with the man buying sex. If she was forcibly raped, there was no consent.

Actually, answer me this:

What is the difference between a man who goes to a prostitute and pays her money for sex, and a college guy that goes out to a bar, spends money on a girl in order to end up in th bedroom with her later on?

Again NO... They chose this lifestyle. Why would they be humiliated by it?

imagine if you will......a young girl who decides to make some cash to pay her way through college....it happens.......and it also comes back to haunt some ruining a career....very humiliating

What I think Bri is missing, is that rape typically isn't about sex, it's about power, retribution and humiliation.

So selling sex for money, and getting raped are two different ideologies entirely.

Rape is psychological, and physically abusive, but without choice.

Correct, that was what I was missing about it, and I admitted to not realizing this before you posted that... but whatever. :D

perhaps a more suitable question would be.. is it possible of an animal to rape another animal?

Actually it is, just look at dolphins, males gang rape females!

Yes you did!

I said it was possible, but I wasn't sure. I was simply opening it up for discussion and everyone pushed the opinion on me, when I never said that's what I thought for sure, just what I was considering at the time, before I had thought or talked about it.

I never called you out or put you down and I really don't appreciate being lumped into a group of them vs. me. I may not agree w/ people's opinions and it might physically cause my head to hurt to read some of the opinions I've read in the P&D section...but I still respect everyone's right to have that opinion, no matter how warped I might think it is (NOT directed at you...just in general).

It was the fact that people put an opinion in my mouth that it bugged me that you guys were treating this like a debate. You all put me on the other side (except Tim, who realized that I was not only not sure of my opinion, but asking a question to start a discussion) You also put me on the otherside of the debate, and made an argument against an opinion I didn't have. Even after I had agreed with your side, people continued to treat it like a debate, and continue to put me on a side I never once said I was on. Maybe you didn't continue to argue against me after I agreed with your side, but others did, and that's who I was mainly directing that towards.

he wasn't putting you on the other side of the debate he was answering the original question and asking one of his own.. imo

even philosophy turns int a debate..thats why they are paired together...
one makes a statement the other counteracts it.. both give reasons.. it is either resolved or its not.

all im saying is u have to expect a little bit of debate going on.. but i agree it should not be personalised at you.but more about the point rased.

it's not the fact that it turned into a debate that annoyed me, it's that nobody bothered to read any of the posts already read, when I said I had agreed with the other side. Then they continued to say that i had a 'twisted mind' to think this way, and so on, when I never even joined the otherside.

And I was annoyed by his post, because I have already responded to the same kind of question in this thread, and if he would have read any of it, then he would have seen I had, and not wasted my time.

Seriously, for a women to say rape is okay, and her reasoning is that the other girl gets laid alot, something is fucked up.

I didn't say rape was okay, I was simply wondering if women who have sex with 20+ strangers a day, would be less mentally effected by rape.

Well, rape is rape. I'm sure the lines of consensual and non-consensual sex would be blurred when all of the consensual sex is distilled with a sense of guilt, but if she's as experienced as you say, I'm sure that she is prety grounded and thus as equally affected as if it were you getting raped.

Nonetheless, nobody likes a pay skipper.
