There's a huge amount of people who get arrested after having served. It's like that all over the world, and it's simply because they become accustomed to life in prison, and once you do, it's not as awful as people like me or someone else who hasn't been to prison perceives it.

Have you actually lived in a prison? Just maybe they get re arrested not because they like living in prison but because it fucks them up even more in the head and seriously decreases their already limited chances of finding decent employment when they come out thus tempting them even more back into a life of crime for a living. There really is far too little done in prisons to try and rehabilitate people. Sticking someone in a room for a few years simply is not going to make them a better person.

I'm not saying living in prison is easy. I'm just saying that they must be going about it wrong if so many people are still committing crimes once they've been released.

I am against assisted suicide because of all the loopholes it presents. I dont want to see terminally ill people suffer but legallising it opens the way for people bumping off relatives for their inheritance and putting pressure on them for being a burden ect.

The abortion argument - as I've said else where, I think it should be legal in exceptional circumstances, like this, for instance.

I hate to break it to you, but... assisted suicide indeed takes place. It's just not openly discussed, nor reported. Talk to anyone who has a family member on hospice care.

We can't let out emotions take control over our reasoning. Yes, people do inhuman things, however we should not respond inhumanely. Society and it's justices should be above giving out punishments that are similar or even the same as the crime they are supposed to be prosecuting. This is the 21st century, people.

My thoughts are this:

Death Penalty...I dont believe in it under ANY circumstances. Legal murder. Plus, its the easy way out. Let the bastards suffer. My solution is to put all serious offenders on a deserted island. a la "Lord of the FLies" amd let them all fend for themselves.

Then we as taxpayers arent wasting money on the scum.

Abortion...well, I am pro choice too. I dont like the fact some women use it as a form of contraception. My spiritual beliefs are that the soul doesnt enter the baby until it is coming down the birth canal, so up until that point, it is still a foetus, not a human being. (yet)

Thenn they get smart and get weapons and go to war with people haha. Don't give them that freedom!

Yes, with each other, and eventually wipe themselves out. I cant see them having the smarts to build bombs etc, but they would have to be monitored of course...not assisted in any way, just a close watch on them all

Well if you all believe in religion then making them suffer in jail or killing them isn't the answer.

They get their judgment in the end. Patience and love is the only thing that is expected of you and you will be fine. If a man steals your wallet, give him your coat. He will get his judgment and you will get yours.

On the opposite side there is what is the most functional and efficient in dealing with irreversible criminals in society.... which is the death penalty.

I feel like everyone in America is torn between them both. Which doesn't work. They are sick of trying to choose whether to believe in god or evolution.. so they go half and half.

Torn between what is correct according to religion and what is the most effective measure in ensuring the survival and totality of human life in society.

This is because there is no thought to rehabilitate the prisoners. People think that locking someone up for a few years will make them learn from their mistakes. It does not cure their problem so of course they will committ crimes. They have not been rehabilitated.

We already tried that method, your country is the result.:p

I am pro choice but against the death penalty.
Like others have said, if a girl is raped, she probably won't want to keep the baby. Also, a fifteen year old girl would probably not be able to give a baby a good life, although not in all cases. And would it be right to make a girl keep a baby when she is trying to complete high school and start a life for herself? But I'm only for abortion in the first trimester.

I would also be for the death penalty if it were completely fair. When a rich white man commits a murder and gets off with nothing more than a few years in prison and probation and a poor black man gets the death penalty, is that fair? When it is completely fair, maybe I'll agree with it.

I am a legalist through and through and believe that the death penalty is currently best possible punishment of the kind in our imperfect world/ society. The punishment itself is not great, but there is no better form of punishment that's, in my view, better. However, even if i was not a supporter of the death penalty I would still be pro choice for the first and second trimesters.

I don't really consider a bunch of cells a living creature...

I am against both, I do not think man should have the right to take another mans life, regardless of circumstances. I also think abortion is murder.

However, I understand the feeling of people who are pro-murder/ant-abortion. Some people truly believe in an eye for an eye. or they feel that justice must exist on both ends of the spectrum. although i do not agree, who am i to say they are wrong?
