It takes time to build a team, and Liverpool need rebuilding. Hodgson has already done a brillaint job in clearing out the dead wood of Insua, Plessis, Aquilani, Nemeth, Cavalieri etc
But he's still got the absolute rubbish of Lucas, Babel, Johnson and co to clear out.

In fact, I'd say only Reina, Agger, gerrard and Torres are of sufficient quality to challenge for a champions league place.
