Why do you think I don't understand? I went to school too. I even graduated and got a little piece of paper called a diploma. And right now I'm only 9 credits away from an Associate's Degree in Computer Studies that I will then transfer towards a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management. I took Human Physiology when I was in high school, and I don't recall being taught that blacks have an extra calf muscle that runs all the way to their buttocks. And it certainly wasn't in any of my textbooks either.
You said that schools can't teach false or controversial issues. Yet you also said that your science teacher taught you that blacks have this mysterious extra muscle. You pretty much just contridicted yourself. Unless of course this muscle has only been discovered in the 13 years since I graduated high school. :dunno

i do believe this is true about african americans having the extra muscle. it could be in the middle part of the leg but i am not sure. but they do have something different



on another note: you cannot say that this race is this and that race is that..all of these are generalizations that do not apply to every person in that race. no certain race is inherently better than any other.

I believe that they have more fast twitch muscle fibers which are good for things like sprinting. But, in all the various biology and health classes I've had, I never heard of African Americans having extra muscles.

And I would like to say that I did learn this (extra muscle black people) in a 9th grade Health Class text book, but even if it were to be false (which it isn't), most would agree that they have quick twitch fibers in their legs which makes them faster and better for various sports..so no matter what the case, they are still faster and have the ability to jump higher than other races.

First off I believe that your numbers in the IQ section are incorrect. My IQ (tested only a few years ago) is around 120ish; and I am not that high over the national average, just a bit at best.

2nd (and the main point) what in hell is the point of this topic. I see no real point to this being here. Oh and I don't think I'm alone in my opinion of the uselessness of this topic; seeing as how the first post was the topic creator bumping it back to the top spot.

African Americans may be some of the better sprinters but they are also some of the best long distance runners (slow twitch fiber type stuff). It proves nothing.

Do a search for errors in textbooks. Or look here if you don't want to search. Textbooks (and teachers) can and will be wrong sometimes.

As far as I.Q. is concerned, they aren't a very good measure of anything. It's how you tested on that day, at that time, in those conditions, with that test. That being said, in education, the I.Q. test most commonly used is the WISC-R. The mean score is 100, with a standard deviation of 15. To be consider either mentally retarded or gifted, you would have to be two standard deviations from the mean. Both average scores are within the normal range. Any professional would not think anything of a score of 80 or 108.

The SAT is only an indicator of how a student will do in their freshman year. People who score well may not do so well after their first year, just like people who didn't score well may do well.[/url]

some interesting finds..however, i think the main base for equality these days concerns RIGHTS

just because one race maybe (prone) more athletic or smart does not mean they should be given rights while other races are denied those rights.

and as some people pointed out this is a generalization and as we all know there are exceptions to these.

Islam isn't inherently evil. It's the brainwashing they put into their kids heads. IMO though, all organized religions are like this. "sex before marriage is bad" says who? Your agenda may not agree with my agenda.

The Japanese deserved to have the bombs dropped because the US didn't feel that invading the homeland was worth anymore American soldiers lives. Japanese fight to the death, hence the kamikaze pilots. They simply WILL not give up, so we gave them a reason to.

Southerners... well, as with any 'stereotype' it's the actions of the few that make the whole look bad.

That's what I've been asking all along and so far he hasn't shown any facts at all. He's just said that was what his 9th grade science teacher told him and that it was in his Health textbook.

The Asian chap had a rough time at school being picked on because of his size.. he went to the gym, bulked up and is now a cage fighter. (and his twin brother is a brain surgeon)

freedom does not grant anyone rights. freedom is a privelage. there are those who have decided to protect your freedom, sometimes at the cost of their lives. thats what makes it a privelage.

equality of races - nope, never can be equal. i am surprised that you generalized races and compared them.

equality of people - yeaup, it can happen. hatred must first be expended ( generations must die ), but it will happen sometime in the future. the only real way to be equal with one another is to quit calling them as a part of a race, and call them as a part of humanity.
