Obesity now a 'lifestyle' choice for Americans

Many diet drinks/soda no longer use Aspartame as a sweetner.

Coke and Pepsi both use Aspartame in their diet products... Actually most companies use it.. Equal, Nutrasweet and Canderel are all trade names for Aspartame...

I stick with real cane sugar... as long as I don't go crazy on the amount of calories it is good for you... all natural yumminess... :D

Sugar isn't bad for you, you just have to use it in moderation... and that's the problem... moderation is a dirty word to most Americans, myself included some days.. :)

Jones Sodas use real cane sugar in their sodas and some of their flavors are really good. The ones Ive tried and really like are...Black Cherry and Cream Soda

Many sodas are using Splenda now, though some folks have a problem with Splenda as well. I let you know by the end of this semester if I do or not ... LOL!

And I couldn't agree more with you in regards to moderation. Self discipline and moderation are our friends not our enemies.

In my food I use pure sugar cane. Sugar only has 15 calories per teaspoon. (this can only make one wonder just exactly how many teaspoons of sugar are in soda for it to be 300 freaking calories)

Well if anyone is at all concerned about their health, then they would never drink a diet soda again. Aspartame is some pretty bad stuff. It should have never made it to market in the first place...

Exactly. And this is why I completely stopped drinking diet coke. Used to drink 6-8 cans a day. Speech started slurring, stopped, speach all better :)

well duh, do the math... 15 calories per tsp... so to get to 300 calories you would need 4,500 tsps of sugar....

:dunno pretty simple math

I wonder how they stir in that much sugar???

on a serious note... they use fructose/sucrose in soda, which is a liquid product... I wonder how many calories are in a tsp of that.... :dunno I bet it would be higher.

He's speech got better, but his spelling when downhill. :p

lol.. when I'm at work I race posts in so to not let my boss see what I'm doing ;)

I end up with some horribly spelt words :D

The other day I spelt condition, "conditn", five times in one post. Thankfully I hit the spell-check button before I let that puppy go!
