Fascism is a leftist ideology. I thought Bush was a right-wing radical.

Oh contrare Monfrare...

Fascism is much defined by what it opposes, what scholars call the fascist negations - its opposition to individualism, rationalism, liberalism, conservatism and communism.

Not even close to being a Leftist ideology

Where'd your list come from? Mussolini only listed 3: socialism, democracy, liberalism.Mussolini* - THE DOCTRINE OF FASCISM
Liberalism being, of course, classic liberalism:
Classical liberalism (also known as traditional liberalism[1], laissez-faire liberalism[2], and market liberalism[3] or, outside Canada and the United States, sometimes simply liberalism[4]) is a form of liberalism stressing individual freedom, free markets, and limited government.
which is the antithesis of the uniquely American form. Classical liberalism is closest to what we call libertarian.

As for Fascist, you made me do some work and I learned something. Thanks!
Is Fascism Left Wing or Right Wing? | Gather has a good writeup that shows that fascism has elements of both left and right, as we define it in the US. That's why the word is thrown around by both controlling sides. It fits both contolling sides.

I guess I'll have to stop using it at all.

The Chairman of the Federal reserve had more effect on the global economy than anyone. The President really has no effect -- unless they go to war.

For one thing, the war spending did not create any of the economic woes of today. If anything, it artificially propped up the economy to hide the collapsing credit and housing markets. Yes there were large sums of money spent on the military, but that money goes directly to manufacturing, military pay and other contracts which pumps money into the US economy.

Second, A good deal of what happens with the economy on any given day is based on CONFIDENCE. Investors and consumers alike make decisions about where their money goes based on how the feel the future of the economy will play out. Seeing our current President spend Trillions (with a T) on new programs with no explanation of where the revenue will come from is a very unsettling thing. Investors are more and more wary that our system will be able to handle all this new debt.

It's like watching a familiy member who's deep in debt get a new credit card and run it up to the limit as their means of solving their problem, and then asking you for a loan to help them get by - with a promise to pay you back quickly. You probably wouldn't feel very good about handing over your cash.

are you saying the economy is Obama's fault because people are racist?

i really like the lack of serious right wingnut answers, and variety of creative ones to this thread
There's your problem. You've heard right wingers make this statement. You know some of us are right wingers. Therefore, you assume this view is held by people on here.

But I challenge you to go find me one single post by anybody on this forum where it was stated that Obama caused or is solely responsible for our economy right now.

You're not getting serious answers because nobody's ever said what you seem to think was said.

Everything coming out of your (the conservatives in exile) mouths from day one has been negative. The cumulative result is that you are anticipating a total disaster with Obama and all of your negative focus is directed at him. In lock step the conservatives in this forum are blaming Obama are they not? Pick anything negative, BY GOD It's OBAMA's fault!

Ahh Tim talking about stereotypical, I was born in Chicago, and you'll read my fuked up spelling or not read at all....................Obama sucker

Yet you are one of the idiots who don't believe that Obama was born in Hawaii.

If you still doubt that this issue was settled, then you are either
A. To lazy to look at all the facts already provided
B. To stupid to understand
C. To stubborn to accept the facts
D. So far off the reservation when it comes to reality that you think Hannity is a good source of information.

I'll let you pick.
