It is payed for by taxes which means somebody who works is paying for it thus it is NOT free at all. And I have seen nothing to show me that the quality of health care is better.
When I'm talking about "free" I talk about the person not having to pay for it as in a "bill". Just look at the data from other countries....their health care systems are very efficient.

What data is that? How is it better? If I live in the UK and get cancer will I be better off there or here? And just because you do not pay as you walk in does not mean it is free. People pay a lot for those socialized health care systems and what do they get? Long lines and waits.

You claimed the NHC system have lower quality health care. I disagree with first hand experience. I've lived in a country with a NHC system (Denmark) and the quality there was greater than that of here in the US.
Are you sure? How long did you wait for a mammogram? How long did you wait when you needed an MRI? How long did you wait to have a cyst removed from your ovaries? How long did you wait to have your crossed eyes looked at?

No....really I have freinds in Europe and Canada, and they don't have to wait anymore than I have to if I go to a doctor's office or the hospital. That "waiting" stuff is just a myth.

People pay more for the systems, but what do they get? They get to not have to deal with insurance companies who's sole purpose is to not give as many people insurance as possible. Did you know that? Their in the business of keeping people OFF health insurance. They don't want to give you money. They also don't have to decide between food or medication.

I have relatives in Canada that have been there for some 25 years, and I raised that very same question to them. Know what they said?

Not in Denmark they don't. There are doctor's everywhere. Why? because not only in med school free, the government pays you a small allowance while you're a student. This in turn produces a large amount of doctors.

No lines.. No waits..

I guess what this doctor says is just lies.

I'm against nationalized healthcare for one big reason. I don't trust big government. These are the same people that have run Social Security into the ground. Why would we trust them with yet another huge bureaucracy and expect it to be efficient?

Dont totally dismiss it as a myth though, I have a couple friends in Canada who gripe endlessly about the waiting.

I am with Donnie on this. Basically I don't think all the red tape we have in our system would allow efficiency.

Look at the V.A. for instance, that is proof that we are not ready to provide care for our people via our government.

Another worry of mine about nationalized healthcare is the budget. I don't know about y'all, but I don't want my doctor trying to treat me as cheaply as possible because they're close to going over their yearly budget.

It would be like an even worse version of HMO.

It doesn't have to be run by the Federal Government. It can (and should) be run by State Government.
