You wanna hear something funny? When I was visiting my friend in my hometown in October I was talking a bit of hockey with her husband. He's a good hockey fan and generally knows what he's talking about. He told me that he didn't think Detroit would make the playoffs this year because they didn't have the goaltending. I haven't talked to him since but all through the season I've been laughing at him whenever I see how Detroit is doing. Not gonna make the playoffs, eh? Perhaps being a Canucks fan has finally affected his rational thinking. I'm surprised his mind held out this long. :24:

Sorry about your loss, retro. :( Getting swept just makes it sting that much more.

What makes it sting that much more is that there's a very high probability of this being the last season the Coyotes are here in Phoenix.

That hurts more than being swept. Other fans have the ability to say "oh well, maybe next year..." we're in limbo and don't really know if we get to say that. Hulsizer is TRYING to get this deal worked out, but the Goldwater Institute has practically killed the sale of the bonds, and while I know he can afford it, I highly doubt he'd by the team straight out. At least he was at the game tonight..so maybe it's a good sign? :dunno

Hearing the media in Canada you'd think that the Coyotes moving back to Winnipeg for next season is pretty much a done deal.

They sure seem to think so. All I know is that the NHL has only made one schedule this year...the one with them here in Phoenix. Hulsizer hasn't backed out. It's just that the Goldwater Institute has threatened to sue the City of Glendale for a supposedly unlawful deal according to the state's constitution. So the interest rate on the price of the bonds went up, so no one wants to buy them. There were rumors a few weeks ago that they'd sold $50 million of the $100 million they're trying to sell, but I think that was an unfounded statement, seeing as how I haven't heard anything else since. I just hope that the Coyotes trashing the playoff season doesn't make them an undesirable asset.

And I don't know why Winnipeg is convinced they're getting their team back. The Coyotes, while their sales are shitty, are better than they ever were as the Jets. No one's backed out on this deal yet. And I'm tired of hearing that we don't deserve a team. :( I love my Coyotes. I would've been at the games this week if it hadn't been for school.

A relatively easy sweep without Zetterberg and only partial Franzen participation?...would not have called that one, even with Bryzgalov crapping the bed a bit.

One thing I will say about Phoenix, I don't quite understand why some of their fan base's loudest support came (last year's loss as well) AFTER they fucking lose the series. Your "let's go Coyotes" in the face of defeat is honorable (I hate when people boo their teams), but how about doing some of that while they were losing? And actually showing up to regular season games??

I do hope they don't get shipped off to Winnipeg, despite these outcomes they're still making the playoffs consistently.
