either way Over-chicken got stuffed with a goose-egg in the points department and I think Halak stopped 50 something shots

would be great if the Habs pull off the upset...what did they do tonight that was different?
two quick goals from cammathingy gave Halak reason to relax, from then on he was sublime

Caps out shot Habs something like 55 to 25, even if Mtl squeaks a win in game 7 - they cannot sustain that

any team is beatable, but that could give them some momentum.....but then again the Caps may come out and rock the house and blitz 'em too...

If Montreal wins game seven I will be surprised. Not shocked, but surprised. Depends a lot on which Halak shows up. He's known to be somewhat streaky.
you make a good point - you are very smart when you try hard;)

three in a row might be too much for Halak, what really impresses me throughout this series is how ineffective the million dollar babies can be when the going gets tough, Ovechkin, Semin and Backstrom have all been invisible at times when their team needed them to step up, yet PK Subban gets called up from the AHL and plays like his life is on the line and helps Mtl win

Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom...all Europeans. Subban is Canadian. I believe it makes a difference.

it's killing me the way they went down in game 2. If they'd have won that game, the series/season would be over for Ovi!! Nothing would please me more than to see the Craps get taken down by the eigth seed!

Penguins must realy be loving this, they have the depth and skill to win the East

Pens biggest hurdle (sorry PJers) will be Washington if they aren't eliminated. Ovi wasn't our problem, it was finding a way to get the pucks in the net this year. Plus, our power play could be our undoing in that game. Those goals will be critical in a series against a team the Pens haven't found a way to really score on. This means our third line is really going to have to step up too because Cros and Malkin will be wearing defensemen the entire time.

But carts before horses...we don't even know who we have in round two yet...though my suspicion is it will be Boston.

I'm not saying they're all like that. There are some useful ones but the majority of players that "disappear" in the playoffs are European. Joe Thornton is a noteable exception. :D

No idea what Thorntons problem is but for the euro's I think the refs swallowing their whistles in the playoffs is a big reason. When clutching and grabbing and boarding rules are ignored in the playoffs it has an impact.

In the regular season it is a pussy league. You touch somebody coming down a wing who has just dumped in the puck and an obstruction penalty is called. You crash a defense man into the board if he does not have the puck but is going after it in the regular season and penalty is called.

Another thing.. I forget which idiot did it in which game over the weekend but a defense man had fallen and was on his knees and got boarded. Only a 2 minute penalty when it should have been a major.

Damn you prick.. You stole my thunder.. :D

I agree with you 100%..:homo:

Which is why teams that play dirty and often get many more penalties during the regular season advance further in the playoffs..

Playoffs and regular season games need to be ref'd the same way for the Stanley Cup to be fair to all.. A penalty in the regular season has as much impact as it does in the cup 7th game if a team misses out making the playoffs by ONE game.. :thumbdown
