MOVING TO MEXICO

Dear President Obama:
I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my
health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.

We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into
Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.

We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration
quotas and laws.

I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would
you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way
over?

Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might
need, whether I use them or not.

3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.

4. I want my grand kids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking
(bi-lingual) teachers.

5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture
and history.

6. I want my grand kids to see the American flag on one of the flag
poles at their school.

7. Please plan to feed my grand kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy
access to government services.

9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico , but, I don't plan to
purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort
to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo
from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every
patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. Flag from my house top, put U S. Flag
decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do
not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or
have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.

13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be
extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or
about the strain we might place on their economy.

14. I want to receive free food stamps.

15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.

16. I'll need Income tax credits so that although I don't pay Mexican
Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.

17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $4,500 to help me
buy a new car.

18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican
Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in
retirement.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things
for all his people who walk over to the U.S. From Mexico . I am
sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask
him nicely.

Thank you so much for your kind help.

P.S. Your the man!!

Implying all Mexico must conform to the US' mixing-pot criteria

Why so much hate for Mexico, you know legal documents are written and available in all other languages of the world too, and illegal immigration exists from all countries.

inb4 all the racism, its these posts that make me want to leave because they are all too often lately

I'm a little confused.... Which part of my post exactly do you feel is racist? Is there any point in particular with the letter you think is a reasonable expectation of a host nation?

its not hating on Mexico.

Its mocking the United States

Its not Mexico thats the problem. Its the Mexicans crossing the border and the US not doing enough to keep them in Mexico or sending their asses back.

why should our tax dollars pay for ANYONE that is not in this country legally? Its fucking bull shit that we cant even take care of our own people, but yet we take care of people that are here illegally

and anyone who thinks this is right should fucking leave this country . Ill even help them pack

This goes for all Illegals. not just the mexicans that are here ILLEGALLY

I'm guessing Intruder would be happy if the USA lowered themself to the same poor standards of living and government as Mexico.:dunno Having a shitty life would be worth it if it keeps those damn foreigners out.

what's funny is they talk as if this didn't happen before Obama got in power...

Accountable came up with what I think is the only sensible solution to illegal immigration - which was increasing the decent work opportunities in Mexico. Obviously there's more to it than that, perhaps he could share it with us again?

That's crap and I'm pretty sure you know it. Illegal immigration has been a major issue since Reagan and before. The "Right" flamed GW Bush regularly for coddling illegal aliens. It was under his watch that the phrase "undocumented immigrant" was coined.

But thanks for the props. :)

Oh I remember Bush being attacked over it. I don't remember reading quite so much sarcastic rhetoric in forums tho...

Do you mean this?
Another way is to reduce the pressure from the other side, meaning increase job availability in Mexico. Wal mart would be a good start. They use lots of cheap manpower in every store. If the Mexican gov't is keeping them from opening stores, they can fund a native corporate startup or something. I'm completely ignorant of how it could be done, but if it can be done, Wal mart can do it. The US could help with tax incentives. Open more stores there, get a tax cut here.

Neighboring countries in Europe don't seem to have the same problems with immigration we do. We need to study their system and see what we can use or modify to fit our situation.

Quality improves with practice. :D

I'm hopeful that the American People are finally getting tired of reaching up on the same shelf as always, grabbing a product with slightly different packaging, and finding out it's the same old product in different packaging.

It's like going to Taco Bell and expecting the burrito to taste different than the soft taco.

I ache to get a home-cooked meal after all this processed food.

I think I only find it objectionable because posts like IntruderLS1's offer no solutions, just a bitch fest. It's good to bitch, but it's better to propose an alternative or remedy.

But that's a great point, hopefully the American people are getting tired, and maybe the next president you have will offer REAL change, rather than just political posturing.

Maybe that'll happen in the UK too.

I love this. The U.S. and her citizenry are expected to put up with the abuse of other nations, and if anybody dare to raise a question, they're attacked with the racist stick.

There is not one racist bone in my entire body sir, and I take issue with your use of the term in my direction.

The reason this piece is so powerful, is because it's so true. If anybody, from any nation were to have these expectations of another country, it would be clear to the world that it was unreasonable.

Here in America... We're not even allowed to talk about it.

If a group of strangers moves into your house, without your permission, and expects and demands that you take care of them. They expect and demand that they have control of your TV remote. They eat your food and expect you to not be late on your next grocery run. Etc etc etc... but if you say anything about it, you're an evil racist.

Dude...

that really doesn't make much sense I'm afraid.

You'll have to take that up with whomever called you a racist.

Most countries have immigration policies not dissimilar to the US's.

Here in America... We're not even allowed to talk about it.

Ok that is pretty much the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Of course you're allowed to talk about it. The US enjoys UNPARALLELED free speech. You're making the most of it right now. If you'd have said that in the UK, it could be construed as hate-speech.

Tune into FOX, they're always on about it, and they same the same "oh, but we're not allowed to talk about it" yet it's a constant talking point. Weird.

Dude...

I'm afraid the analogy doesn't really work. Most immigrants move for work, more money, the possibility of "making it" - not handouts. Nor are they asking for you to do anything for them. They simply want to live somewhere where their work translates into a decent living, which it simply doesn't in Mexico.

Check out Accountable's solution to the problem on page 1 of this thread, it's a pretty clever idea if you ask me.

there is nothing wrong with the OP post. in mexico they are MUCH harder on people that come across their boarders. if you are stopped at any time (and they can stop you for NO REASON at all) you MUST produce papers. your visa, your birth certifacte your drivers license.... and mind you when they stop you they are all holding AK47's!!!!

i do not have a problem with immagration, when done correctly. my husband came over here, from mexico. the problem that i have is that you have many coming over here illegaly, commiting crimes, getting sent back, and coming back again.

The problem with the original post is that a) it's aimed at Obama and implies that this is all his fault, which simply isn't true. b) it's taking the extreme cases of immigrants. c) it doesn't take into account the fact that the US economy is in part built on the back of cheap, illegal labour. d) it doesn't offer anything in the way of what to do about the situation.

Check out Accountable's idea on page 1 of this thread, rather than just attacking Obama for something that is not his fault, surely it would be better to come up with a solution to the problem?
