UFC 106 rumored to be Lesnar vs. Carwin, in Lesnar's first defense of his Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Championship... I don't see Carwin having much of a chance in this fight. I think Lesnar's only legit challenger at this point in time would be Fedor if Dana can ever get him signed.

Well, Lesnar probably won't last long with the title, it still have lots of flaws and that gives him good chances to lose at anytime as in MMA anyone can lose with a lucky shot. except fedor, if you hit him you'll just make him mad and he'll kick your ass in the next minute xD

You're having a laugh. This should be a good fight, and I got Carwin for the upset. The man's like what would happen if a tank and a big pile of bricks that wrestle had a baby.

What are people's thoughts about the event this weekend?

I got old man Randy outworking punchdrunk Nog. And Marquardt TKOing Maia.

I have no idea about couture vs nogueira. Nogueira might be pass his time or maybe not(he said was a bit injured against Mir, hmm who knows), if he fights like against Mir he will lose for sure :p, that was really bad. I'm going for Maia by submission.

I know everyone keeps saying it, but I truly believe Nog has just taken too much punishment to his head over the years. He looks like he fights very slowly now. I know he's big, and has incredible sub skills, but I don't think that will be enough against Randy, even if he is 56 years old.

hehe, seems he is not done yet. Great fight and definitely he was in bad shape against Mir. Couture hit some hard shots too, both are in good shape atm and I guess that's good for the sport :D. Thiago silva vs Jardine fight was nice too, only disapointed about Maia's fight, too quick -,.-

Blimey. Nogueira looked very good. The best he's looked in a long time.

Marquardt was just too big a step up for Maia. If Maia works on decent stand-up, or even only stand-up defence (as he is not a young fighter), I'm sure we will see good things from him.

Maia wouldn't stand a chance a chance against Silva anyways, so it was probably the best thing to happen, now he might take this loss as a good lesson. But well, they'll probably do a Marquardt vs Henderson first.

True, I think they do have that in the pipeline already. Interesting match-up. Marquardt will probably outwork him though.

Lesnar is very fast and very strong, he can cover allot of distance very quickly, however, Carwin is another top tier wrestler and has superior punching power (especially GNP if he can get on top). Carwin has an excellent chance of catching him on the feet and a much better chance then most of getting off his back and fighting a close range battle. Carwin is no submission artist, but after round one you wont have to be with Lesnar. That is allot of muscle mass he needs to keep oxyginized and he wont be able to keep his pace for more then 2 rounds no matter the shape he is in.

Lesnar's biggest threats right now are Fedor (obviously), Nog (due to his submissions and ability to withstand mass damage and come out on top) and Carwin. Really, they need to divide HW up into two weights from 205-230 and 230-265 as soon as they can fill the division up. Lesnar is walking at close to 300 lbs, that is asking a hell of allot for HWs walking around at 220-230

I still give a slight edge to Lesnar, but this is a 60/40 fight IMO

BTW, Sanchez vs Penn tomorrow!! Much better fight then Lesnar vs Carwin, way quicker, more cardio and a hell of allot more technique, and both have KO power

Mir vs Kongo and Guida vs Florian also on the card, Guida vs Florian or Penn vs Sanchez will be fight of the night

Holy crap you're back!!

Same week I came back too, what are the odds?

And yeah, Penn ruined him lol, well, Diego did dry hump the hell out of his leg.

Mir looked like a beast and just schooled kongo, hopefully now I wont be the only one that isn't suprised when Florian blows someone over that is not named Penn or Sherk (Kenny is maybe the most underrated fighter in MMA and has been for about a year), great fights

Not too big on the next fights, Dos Santos and Sherk get fed cans, the lauzon bros both fight and Rashad will KO Thiago

Yvel is as one dimensional as it gets, but he's a dangerous striker, Dos Santos might want to think about taking him down.

Doubt he will, he didn't really try to take Cro Cop down, course not really sure how Cro Cop and Gilbert stack up anymore, but I would venture to say Dos Santos might be just as one dimensional and maybe even better on the feet. He has quick hands and it only takes one with him.
