Manchester United season tracking

Maybe, but I don't think even Ronaldo could have saved us tonight. That was a game that Ronaldo last season would piss fans off. Guess it's all hypothetical of course, but I don't think he would have made much difference, out problems lay much deeper.

Back on form with a 5-0 win over Wigan at the DW stadiium. We had all the chances in the first half but couldn't take them, second half we did, and then some. Rooney started it with a great header from Valencia's cross, Berbatov made it two shortly after with a sublime finish, Rooney added a third and Owen finally scored his first professional goal for us after a clever ball through from Nani, chipped it back across the goallkeeper into the corner then Nani scored a great free kick in stoppage time to round off a fine win.

Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal.

They were better in the first half, got the goal through Andrei Arshavin thanks to a great 25 yard strike although Benjamin may have done better.

Second half was better, got the equaliser through a Wayne Rooney penalty. He was caught by Almunia and yes, penalty. Then the second from a Diaby own goal. Pretty funny.

Funniest part was Wenger getting sent off, he went back to the bench. ref said get down the tunnel. He moves to the bit between the benches just above the old tunnel, holds his arms out having a go at the ref. the Man United fans are cheering at him and by the time hje starts walking down the touchline towards the tunnel the whistle blows anyway.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-3 Manchester United.

Nice convincing win today. Went behind inside a minute from Defoe but you never got the impression that Tottenham would ever win after we equalised thanks to a Giggs free kick. Anderson added a second before the break and despite the slightly harsh red card to Scholes early on in the second, we got that third thanks to Wayne Rooney, who was unbelievably good today by the way. Very pleasing win today, probably the best performance of the season so far.

Besiktas 0-1 manchester United. Opening championk league game, fairly happy with that. Difficult place to go Turkey.

Paul Scholes got the goal withj about 14 minutes left, we deserved to win, created the better chances and controlled it well.

Manchester United 4-3 Manchestere City, fucking unbeliavable game.

Rooney scored early for us, then a Ben Foster error let in Barry for the equaliser. Judus should have scored before half time. Fletcher scored in the second then Bellamy scored a screamer, Fletcher got the third but just as injury time came Bellamy equalised, 3-3 and you think thats it, 95th minute and Michael Owen, the new hero, scores the winner in his first Manchester Derby. What an unreal game.

Yeah, but a ref who plays within the rules works too.

He added a minimum of 4 minutes. What that means is he can play anything between 4 minutes and 4.59.

That's not even taking into account timewasting (which is what City celebrating for 60 seconds comes under) and a substituation. A substitution in injury time is a mandatory 30 seconds added on in addition to, not concurrent with, the 4 minutes. That goes for the other time too.

So in conclusion he added the minimum of 4 minutes, then City celebrated for 60 seconds, and our substitution added another 30 seconds. Added together that makes 5 minutes and 30 seconds.

Michael Owen's goal time? 5 minutes and 27 seconds.

Sure the referee doesn't have to add the additional time on, it's his judgement and whats happening at the time of the game also comes into account. At the time when he may have been thinking of blowing the whistle, we were on the attack. You can't blow for full time then.

Manchester United 1-0 Wolves in the Carling Cup 3rd round.

Crap game really, Welbeck got the first and only goal in the second half after a great 1-2 with Owen. Fabio got sent off in the first half after bringing down Kightly, right decision to be honest.

Pleasing to see De Laet have another good performance, as well as Welbeck.

Just beat Stoke 2-0 at The Britannia. Really good professional performance today, pleasing. Ryan Giggs changed the game when he came on, the passing improved, especially from the wing, and the first goal was really well worked. Fletcher with a ball to Giggs inside the area who pulled it across to Berbatov who had the easiest of tasks to slot home, second goal came from O'Shea after a Giggs free kick, simple but effective.

That win, coupled with Chelsea's suprising defeat at Wigan, sends us to the top of the league tonight.
