yeah so I could get stomped on by the peanut gallery no thanks
maybe I should start the third person view narrative
a person could think
that this is so lame of them to hold up important issues with loads of crap
and if not on this one it will be something else
How are we ever going to make it at this rate
I was bullied in school till third grade
I was still bullied from time to time but was able to stick up for my self
Did the school ever once do anything
yeah once
A kid from out side my school who had been expelled permanently in 9th grade
came to my high school and was picking on some kids during lunch
I came over to see what was going on and he started in on me
punch me in the head once then I punched in the mouth
and then we both got apprehended by the teachers
had 8 witnesses school kids to that he hit me first for no reason and was hitting the other kids
yet I got sent home for two days a paddling and zeros in my classes for those two days
oh yeah its a perfect world
Karma will catch up however
The next year at a friends house that same kid came walking down the street
and started in on my and my friend
I knocked three of his teeth out and broke his finger
but Im sure Im the a hole I should have taken a beating then went and told a parent
at which the kid would have been gone and nothing would have ever happened

wake up people
but that is just a possible view from a person
just saying

I would comment on this but apparently I dont know shit

It would probably help if you read the article and stayed on topic.

OK, to the topic, from the article:

“This section does not prohibit a statement of a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction of a school employee, school volunteer, pupil, or a pupil and parent or guardian.”

Looks like a religious exemption for bullying...WTF would Republicans put that type of language in an "Anti-bullying bill" for??? The political right has lost its collective mind.

Religious people need to STFU in school, government and the workplace. I don't care what the religion is - the only acceptable location to proselytize is in your own home or whatever religious building people choose to go to to practice their chosen superstition. And they should pay taxes on that building and on the income that superstition extorts from its members.

The federal government can't regulate how children are going to behave. The fact is, some children have very interesting parents who really don't care what their children do in school.

Life isn't fair, and school age boys can have the worst "pack mentality" when it comes to kids their age or younger.

I don't condone violence, but all you need to do is make an example of a bully and generally no one will ever **** with you again from that "social circle".

Even Rick Snyder called this bill "a joke". I mean seriously, I'm more ashamed of Michigan for this than for being the shittiest fucking state on earth next to Ohio :24:

I really don't understand why the right doesn't try to make friends with the secular world; they would really have a better shot at maintaining momentum. Not that it benefits society, just sayin' lol.

The religious right are bullies. So it's not surprising their kids would bully other children. Personally I think bullies should be kicked out of school. That would put an end to it.

I agree. There are no consequences to this mob mentality, so the behavior continues. It's quite simple. Unfortunately bullying is an adult problem cycled to children, as you said.

“It does no such thing,” Glenn said in response to a series of email questions from Michigan Messenger. “The religious free speech protections included in the bill, consistent with the First Amendment, simply ensure that students won’t be bullied or punished — as occurred last year at a high school in Howell — for daring to say they believe a certain behavior is wrong as a matter of sincerely held religious or moral conviction. The First Amendment and other free speech protections do just that, protect free speech, not bullying. And students, like all other Americans, are free to verbally express their opinions — including religious and moral views — without fear of government repression or persecution, including under anti-bullying or harrassment laws.”

This can be taken as a protection to not be bullied for expressing ones views.
In other words..if christian boy says...fucking the cat is wrong..he shouldn't be bullied for it..nor is he to be considered a bully for saying it.

And that's why it's bad legislation.
