i know but being 16 and18 is sooo different.
i think the legal age should be 18 and that was my whole point...
seeing a 16 witha 40 WRONG.
an 18 with a 40...wronggg but not as wrong there may be some good in it...
no matter from what age to whatever age...you learn stuff, and its just as much but the importance of it all is way different.

maybe 16 is a decent age to get down and dirty if he or she feels like its a " must" in their lifes at that time...
I just dont think that a 16 should have anything to do with anyone over the age of 19...
i think that rules they have with concentment is not clear enough..they need to make more of a detailed law rather than just blah this is the age bottom line because there is so many different circumstances..and all of them need to be discussed..

I think there was a time when 13 year olds getting married was acceptable but that might have been because people were dying at 40. (But I don't know for sure). But for society today, what if 16 year olds could have sex and not get pregnant or transmit STDs? Besides the moral objection, would there be any other reason? You all know it's a completely natural desire that nature (God) put into us.

I do not know if you would agree with me however...wouldn't you like to know that your partner is clean? like that she/he is pure. Yes some people throw caution to the wind and subsequently make more bad choices afterward when God calls them on it.

I'm sorry but you are operating from a extremely idealistic view point. Abstinence until you meet your one true love may be possible, but as a rule, people have multiple partners prior to marriage. It does not make them dirty or somehow inferior, unless you've got a moral hang up about hooking up with virgins only. And I think if you asked them, (those experienced with a partner or two or three, as long as they are not overdoing it) they would say it was a good thing. Experience helps you grow, not just from the outstanding jazzed up hormone driven sex with a new person, but also with gaining experience in relationships. If you are expecting to meet and marry a virgin, good luck. I'm not going to say it's impossible, but you might just end up passing on your soul mate in the process.

personally i wouldn't care if he isn't a virgin, as long as he hadn't over done it. but most people dont experience with a partner or two, most have had sex countless times.

I dont think there should be a minimum age for sexual activity, as if people will even respect a law. I do believe that there should be rules and laws in place to prevent younger, more vulnerable people to possibly get involved with older people. If they do want to be with an older person, their should be a law to determine a good age at which a person can pick a somewhat educated decision on their activites.

uhh.. guys 16 is acceptable age.. i lost my virginty at 16.. a month of 17.. i met my bf when i was 17... he was 21.. i dont find that odd at all.. i know girls who lost their verginity at 13.. no joke. although think it is young..it was their choice to do it.. wether they regret it or not.. is down to them.. i have no problem.. if its safe the age of concent (within reasoon ie with some 1 around the same age) should be down to that indevidual person.. i do think age of concent is a gd idea purely to protect young teens from pedofiles and well dirty old men... 16 is about average....

THe law is mainly put in place to keep older individuals from taking advantage of younger individuals .. and to give them a ledge to hold onto when trying to prosocute those individuals who choose to take advantage.

Truth is most 16 yr olds are not ready for caring for children or for "serious" relationships. The law is set in place to both protect minors from others who would wish to harm them, and also to help protect them from themselves .. just like not being able to drive, drink, join the military, or vote until they become a certain age.

People don't like people making decisions for them .. but the truth of the matter is .. sometimes people NEED someone to make decisions for them .. to help keep their irrational actions under control. And teenagers are NOTORIOUS for making irrational decisions.
