Yeah, I don't agree with it either. I think our system works just fine in that regard.
lol oopsWhat I am saying is, is that I believe much of campaign money to be a waste, when imo we have the means to run a Presidential campaign w/o so much waste.
I can't possibly disagree more with that. Our troops are in Japan/Korea/Germany/Spain etc for a reason. Quick reaction and deterrence. A necessary evil imo.
How do we "check and balance their lives and markets" in Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Guam, or any of the other places we station troops?is it not more evil that we forcefully check and balance their lives and markets? we are asking for other factions to attack us.

I never heard em complainI agree.
The only stretch I could see being made would be the money that we spend over there, but most places seem to think that's a good thing.
well, we DID sort of destroy them in WW2.I never heard em complain
Hell, Okinawa would be nothing but starving farmers if we weren't there to feed them the almighty dollar.

crickey...europe?do germany spain italy know about this?oh and that us too then ?????
They started itwell, we DID sort of destroy them in WW2.
They started it
Nice try, but we're talking about Okinawa. Who did, in fact, not get vaporized. The Japanese that vaporized weren't the Japanese that attacked Pearl Harbor, nor did they have a say in the matter.

Have you not heard of Ramstein?
No not Rammstein!
Ramstein Air Base
It's a huge US base, of which is ultilized quite a bit in the Iraq war.
Because they have absolutely no value on their own. They were almost completely disowned by the Japanese for being different culturally. Their land has no value besides for farming, yet only a tiny percentage of the land is suitable for farming. So why would they be poor farmer without the US? Why wouldn't they be as developed as mainland Japan?

Then we decided to build permanent bases there, and the cash flow ensued.
I would say that's assuming a lot and is basically revisionist history. We have no idea what would've happened. I doubt signing a peace treaty would supercede centuries of intolerance. That was pre-WWII. The Japan's defeat in WWII also ended the Japanese Empire, and thus would have led to an acceptance of Okinawa from mainland Japan, wouldn't you say?.
