All done. I was the 1172nd voter to vote in my small town and the line was growing.

And I never get the fear over voter fraud and why there is a push for needing photo ID. I mean you MUST vote at your polling place. Your name MUST be in the book and before you vote, you must sign the book. So how can you vote twice? If your signature doesn't match last years, you don't get to vote...

Tim it amazes me that people question the need for voter ID

Why is it such a big deal to require ID ??

We require it but it is a joke because you can sign on the back to swear you really are who you say you are.

No fraud is good regardless of how it happens. Personally I am more concerned about shenanigans behind the scenes with the machines. I am not paranoid about it like some and looking for something that is not there. Just saying we need to always be vigilant to ensure the most legit process is used

props to all that voted

it is sad that so few take the effort

this is a cherished right

Damn straight it is! Particularly for women. It irritates me when I see some of my female friends NOT vote when they are registered to do so.

Have some of the women forgotten what our foremothers went through to get us this right? *shakes head*

But why ask for ID? How would that improve anything? How could you fake the system by not having ID on you?

It adds credibility to the system

Why is it so hard to accept requiring ID??

How many other things do you do that require ID?

That are far less important than ensuring an election is as credible as possible

Voted and so far, it's looking good here. And in general as well. At least as far as my political views go.

I always vote, though because in my mind, it's not only a right, it's a privilege to do so. Plus, you can't complain if you don't vote :D

cam elle toe - the majority of our local elections are on Saturday

we'll see what happens with SF county and the northern counties come in... but I'm not holding out hope.

All in all, a fucking horrible night for California. Prop 19 is gonna fail, Prop 25 is going to pass, and Jerry Brown comes back to Sacramento. Oh, and Barbara Boxer continues her reign of complete ineptitude in Washington.

I dunno, I don't think Whitman was much better

Brown destroyed the state 30 years ago. Why in God's name do people want to give him another chance to make things even worse here than they are already? Wait, I'll tell you why... because the citizens of this God forsaken state are fucking idiots, that's why.

Step one in hopefully restoring some sanity to our govt
Restore?!? :wtf:

I went to the ol' polling place but nobody was there ... nobody! No signs, no voting officials. Luckily I had my sample ballot with me & it had a contact number. The new place is much nicer. :thumbup
