Islam-Aren't there some verses of the Qur'an that condone "killing the infidel"?

Because they are followers of Islam and doing it in the name oftheir religion. Why arn't theyexpelled from their religion instead of being allowed to carry on worshiping at mosques? Something stinks big time there!
no they're not doing it in the name of Islam. and in islam, you cant stop anyone from doing anything. they should repent and try fix what they did.

So what exactly is the point of your religion then if you are not required to care about what it teaches? Sounds pretty pointless to me.
I never said I didnt care what islam teaches. okay, pretend you're taking an english class. You care about what that class teaches and you care about your work but you dont care how other students work. Does that mean you dont care about what the english class teaches?

The Holy Quran doesn't get old or out of date. Its rules stay forever. and yes it is a sin. because she will be exposing more than her face and hands.

It's culture because the Holy Quran says that you can't force anyone to do anything they don't want to do. And jogging apparel is lewd. if a guy sees a girl in jogging apparel and she's hot, like her tummy is showing and its all toned and her legs. then of course he's gonna lust after her. Islam isnt a male dominated religion. I gave you direct verses from the Quran that equalize men and women. I dont know why youre worrying more about peoples actions that whats actually written in the Holy Quran.

A great time to talk up sexism in religion don't you think? Why is it that a man can show his toned pecs, or in most cases his man-boobs in public along with nipples and not be considered lewd, but the woman, oooh the sexy wo-man, must stay covered? If a man can show off, so should the woman.

Actually why should we be ashamed of our bodies anyway? Come on, Temp, this is blatant sexism displayed by male dominated society, who view woman as sexual objects, especially in the Middle East where they are living in the 10th century. I really believe these concepts were put forth by men, not God. And it's a heavy duty religion hang up IMO.

But I'm still trying to verify that the Quran talks about justified killing of infidels. Seems like none of the followers want to address it. :humm:

When you go to the beach, why do you think women cover their boobs and men don't?

Look at non-Muslim countries:
Pregnancy: Thousand of teens get pregnant each year. Their whole life gets ruined just because they were so tempted to have sex. Kids are not prepared to have kids.
Cheating: According to US NEWS, "15 to 18 percent of ever-married people have had a sexual partner other than their spouse while married. "
How Common Are Cheating Spouses? - US News and World Report
Divorce:50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce, according to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri.
Divorce Rate : Divorce Rate In America
STDs: (thousands of people in the US get infected with sexually transmitted diseases each year)STD statistics for the USA

While in a Muslim country, it's VERY rare for any of those things to happen. Why? Women and men cover themselves. They're not tempted to have sex before marriage.

At some beaches they don't. ;) I guess the point is that different standards for lewd exist depending on where your at. Apparently the strict interpretation of Islam puts it at an extreme, a standard written by men thousands of years ago. Does that mean it's still relevant today- women covered from head to toe, while men can expose a great deal of their bodies? IMO that is sexist. You know Adam and Eve started off naked, but that's a Christian story. Anyway, "sin" indicates that God is against it. I don't believe that a balanced and fair God would be promoting sexist policies. Flesh is flesh.

I'm not sure if it can be attributed to covering one's self. Anyway there is control and then there is freedom. Religious policies are heavy into control. In the 1950's USA, Divorce was socially frowned upon and a lot less people were getting divorced. Society was more orderly, but many people were staying in unhappy marriages to meet the "standard". Is this good or bad? Most people who have gotten out of bad marriages would say it's good that they could.

Should people be forced to refrain from sexual experiences until they are married? Statistics indicate your right, but that's not what people want. As you know most people especially men, don't feel that they should be held back. It's biologic. Even in Middle East countries, rumors prevail about men's attractions to boys. So it can be argued that man's sexual desires will prevail no matter what restrictions society or religion place. Personally, the only fall out I see regarding sex before marriage is unwanted pregnancy and disease which can be addressed through education, not through programs that don't work, nor ignorance. As our Republican VP candidate can attest, abstinence only programs don't work.

I addressed the 'justified killing of infidels' in the first post.

I'll go back and take another look. Thanks.

Is the reason it's rare (which I don't think is true) because they cover themselves? Or because usually commiting adultery or being a pregnant teen results in a death sentence?

I too think the number is up around 70. :) But lets just pause and think about the mentality that is at work in this statement. What would you be doing with all those virgins? :humm: It could not mean that your heavenly reward would be non-stop sex could it? Does this also apply for the woman who kills the infidel or is this just man-think? ;)

This in the Quran?

From the way they treat the women on earth, I'm surprised they even let women into heaven :dunno
