well photography wise you can manage without the external flash

Not if I don't want to take pictures with my friends at night or in the early morning, and I'm going to need a flash eventually. I'd rather spend my money on photography then anything else anyways

Cuz the flash my camera came with is broken--sorry forgot to mention that :D otherwise I probably wouldn't buy it

broken lens...broken flash....how did all this happen?

The lens was my sister, I let her borrow it inside my house in my basement to take pics for her husbands birthday, cuz I had to work and she needed the pics ASAP (I don't leave me camera alone with people often) and I came back and it was broken. To this day she still says I gave it to her broken, but I checked the settings right before I left and took a picture and it was working fine, so I don't believe her.

The flash just stopped working. I looked it up online and it said that there is like a switch inside that accidentally gets turned off or something, and it costs like 100$ to send in to get fixed. There is no way to prevent it from happening, and an external flash is better anyways, so I am by an SB-400 flash to replace the old one.

might be worth finding out

Bit too pricey for a few extra bells and whistles I don't think I need. Sometimes the extra stuff just get's in the way, especially when you don't how to use it and don't have the time to figure out how.. I'm just gonna go for the simple SB 400 methinks

i like it, and it would be cool if you could get a shadow of something in the background, or if the lighting was a little different

i don't like digital manipulation of photos - i am an old school film person. i like my manipulations to take place in the body of my camera or in the darkroom.

i do every now and then agree to blur out cellulite and c-section scars, but i dont like messing with colors or textures or shapes

to me that isn't photography - its graphic design
