I like it. Has a very interesting point of view. I would just look for something more int he background, perhaps some photo manipulation.

shots like that can be quite interesting if you can get the forground bark pin sharp

Ya I took it a while ago with my old 100$ digital camera lol I was just wondering it was an interesting idea for pics, cuz that's how I am going to take a lot when I go camping and visit the glaciers and stuff this summer.

I went back to the same tree to try and get that picture again but make it sharper... but I can't seem to get it to have the same feel as that one, too bad I failed at the sharpness the first time around :thumbdown

i think you need to get that shorter lens bri.......these could be very good if they were sharper

and a cheap tripod might come in useful too

if it was the kit lens that got damaged you could probably replace that dirt cheap on ebay...what size was it anyway?

you could probably get a reasonable tripod on ebay too,you dont need a top of the range one, just a cheap alloy one thats light to carry if you're on a trek

If I'm going to buy a lens I might as well buy a good one instead of using it for a few months, and deciding I want a better one. Don't they have good 35 mm lenses for around 125$?

ya, it's a good idea to buy a smaller lighter one for my backpacking trip up to north cascades park, I'll already be carrying like 40 lbs without my camera stuff :D

I'm actually going to order that right now. The lens is actually 200$ swear it was like 125-150$ last time I went to the store I get my stuff from.... Oh well, I still have enough. Damn this trip is adding up, 200$ for the plane, 200$ for the lens, 100$ for the external flash, and ten whole dollars for the tripod :willy_nilly: 500$ haha good thing the actual trip part is free. 11 free days of fun in the snow and ice :p
