Is this picture boring?

well photography wise you can manage without the external flash

Not if I don't want to take pictures with my friends at night or in the early morning, and I'm going to need a flash eventually. I'd rather spend my money on photography then anything else anyways

Cuz the flash my camera came with is broken--sorry forgot to mention that :D otherwise I probably wouldn't buy it

broken lens...broken flash....how did all this happen?

The lens was my sister, I let her borrow it inside my house in my basement to take pics for her husbands birthday, cuz I had to work and she needed the pics ASAP (I don't leave me camera alone with people often) and I came back and it was broken. To this day she still says I gave it to her broken, but I checked the settings right before I left and took a picture and it was working fine, so I don't believe her.

The flash just stopped working. I looked it up online and it said that there is like a switch inside that accidentally gets turned off or something, and it costs like 100$ to send in to get fixed. There is no way to prevent it from happening, and an external flash is better anyways, so I am by an SB-400 flash to replace the old one.

i like it, and it would be cool if you could get a shadow of something in the background, or if the lighting was a little different

i don't like digital manipulation of photos - i am an old school film person. i like my manipulations to take place in the body of my camera or in the darkroom.
