I think we are rewarded here for good deeds. All unproven heavens should be the same for all souls.
I know of no better form than man but I do not believe in reincarnation.
In a non corporeal heaven, WTF would a man do with a bunch of virgins. That would be more of a hell.:jk:yuk

Not only rewarded here , screwed as well!

I get peeved with those who think they live in a self centered vacuum.
Think of the butterfly effect.

Think about it.

That or do what your Bible says and sit at the back of the church, shut up and take direction from men.

Learning is also good.

I don`t go to church, I used to, and that`s how I learned that God was no where to be found in that building. I don`t take direction from anybody but myself and that`s why I`ll keep believing what I believe until and beyond the day that I die......I`m not here to put you down, I know how difficult it is to believe, I`ve been there.....and now I`m here and I believe that God exists and not you or anybody else can convince me otherwise.

That`s why I hate debates of this nature......it turns good people against each other...and for what?

Anyone who is interested in truth should watch this video, not for what it proves, but for what it makes questionable. Questioning is always superior to blind or "feel good" faith. Questioning, exploring, researching, imagining is how the human race moves forward. It's what God should want us to do. Thanks for posting! :)

* There is no substantiated basis for an historical Jesus. The only record of Jesus is in faith based documents. There is a difference.
* The Rosetta Stone (196 BC) tells a story in ancient Egypt that mirrors the Jesus story. Coincidence or does history repeat itself?
* Ancient scripts written before 150AD hold a total of 24 lines of ambiguous script regarding Jesus. An Anglican Priest asks is this the basis to form a major religion?

Remember in the Matrix, when Cyper makes a deal to double cross his friends and be inserted back into the Matrix. Most importantly he did not want to remember ANYTHING. This is a good illustration of the power of a good fantasy over reality especially the reality of not knowing what the future holds.

Do you think that I've never questioned Him? Well I have and I've done my exploring and as much researching as I know what to do with.....some things, you only know in your heart, and there's no other way to explain it. I'm not saying that I'm better than you, on the contrary, I'm probably a whole lot worse for knowing what I know and not being blessed with the ability to reach those who don't believe......I've tried and God forgive me, I've finally given up. I'll never deny Him and I'll never miss an opportunity to tell others that I believe....but I won't roll up my sleeves, point my finger and preach to you about God. Soooooo, worst case scenerio, what does that make me......a sinner, and aren't we all?

Yes, you're exactly right my friend.

GibranKah_sm.jpg

Good and Evil (from The Prophet)
By Kahlil Gibran
(1883 - 1931)

And one of the elders of the city said, Speak to us of Good and Evil.
And he answered:
Of the good in you I can speak, but not of the evil.
For what is evil but good tortured by its own hunger and thirst?
Verily when good is hungry it seeks food even in dark caves, and when it thirsts it drinks even of dead waters.

You are good when you are one with yourself.
Yet when you are not one with yourself you are not evil.
For a divided house is not a den of thieves; it is only a divided house.
And a ship without rudder may wander aimlessly among perilous isles yet sink not to the bottom.

You are good when you strive to give of yourself.
Yet you are not evil when you seek gain for yourself.
For when you strive for gain you are but a root that clings to the earth and sucks at her breast.
Surely the fruit cannot say to the root, "Be like me, ripe and full and ever giving of your abundance."
For the fruit giving is a need, as receiving is a need to the root.

You are good when you are fully awake in your speech,
Yet you are not evil when you sleep while your tongue staggers without purpose.
And even stumbling speech may strengthen a weak tongue.

You are good when you walk to your goal firmly and with bold steps.
Yet you are not evil when you go thither limping.
Even those who limp go not backward.
But you who are strong and swift, see that you do not limp before the lame, deeming it kindness.

You are good in countless ways, and you are not evil when you are not good,
You are only loitering and sluggard.
Pity that the stags cannot teach swiftness to the turtles.

In your longing for your giant self lies your goodness: and that longing is in all of you.
But in some of you that longing is a torrent rushing with might to the sea, carrying the secrets of the hillsides and the songs of the forest.
And in others it is a flat stream that loses itself in angles and bends and lingers before it reaches the shore.
But let not him who longs much say to him who longs little, "Wherefore are you slow and halting?"
For the truly good ask not the naked, "Where is your garment?" nor the houseless, "What has befallen your house?"

isnt that the guy that hosted family feud for years? :D

Maybe a bit confused here, we have an atheist in the UK, who seems to be ramming down everyone's throat, that there is no God :24: One of my fb contacts is really annoyed about his attitude, saying that if that is the case, then why not let people decide rather than him preaching his point :D

I have no problem with benign faith or belief. I think we all have a spiritual nature to appease, myself included.
I am not an atheist and call myself a Deist without a creator God.

It is the belief in fantasy and magic and miracles that I fight because I believe that that is the harmful part of religions and what causes all the type of crap that I linked you to.

In Africa they are killing little children as witches just because that work is in their Bible.

If you do not believe in those fantasy aspects or religion, we can be friends bit otherwise debates of a moral nature will become impossible because you can always say, stupidly, God did it or God does it this way or some other cop out.

literalism is fatal for your spiritual growth and please believe one that has found what most call God.
If you believe in fantasy, you will never access the Godhead. You will be denied.

This below is the way to think about whatever you read or hear about religion.

Trust me on this.

Now, the only thing I want to know from you is if you are a literalist and do you believe in fantasy, miracles or magic.
Does the God you believe in have to have these as part of what He is?

DL.

Instead of lambasting the whole of Christianity as people who go out their way to kill children, why don't you instead question them, since you are some so called Deist, whatever that means?

You shouldn't make such declaratory statements/judgments...BTW who sets the rule in a debate?? Not you ofcourse...nor even me

literalism is fatal for your spiritual growth and please believe one that has found what most call God.

I don't think anybody died due to so-called literalism!

If you believe in fantasy, you will never access the Godhead. You will be denied.

this it too declaratory judgmental...

I wish one of the few rational Christians, like AU Fred would join in the debate. Most Christians who come in these threads have a preposterous and completely irrational point of view
