I think you should be the one who contemplates about keeping quiet, since your very thoughts are very bigoted. It doesn't take a black man to see that, and your lack of understanding about basically everything that involves ethnicities and culture is appalling. Read a book.

When you enter a public arena (like this web forum), and share your beliefs, you are expected to justify them, or they mean nothing. Things are meaningless without justification. By saying "I don't need a reason!" is to basically negate anything you just said.

I agree. If you're going to put out an opinion, you'd better be able to back it up. When you can't, you just look foolish. :shrug:

I'm a quarter Cherokee... but I'm not proud of it. I'm proud of my accomplishments, and who I am as a person, not my genetic makeup (which I have absolutely no control over).

If you want to be proud of your heritage, find specific things about your heritage to be proud of, not just skin color (for instance your great great grandfather did something amazing).

I think many of you would be surprised if you did a little digging. You may not be as 'white' as you think.

I'm proud to be white; because if I weren't I wouldn't have red hair, freckles, or blue eyes .. naturally. I kinda like those features, and I find them more desirable to myself (for myself) than any other races features.

White people have done wrong to other peoples, its not like that fact is going away anytime soon. White people have done good, don't get me wrong, but their advancements should only have a net worth and not because they had more or less pigment in their skin.

ok.......the portuguese and spanish started slavery.......being european they're classed as white,not technically so.......ome centuries ago the moors invaded much of the iberian peninisula......they stayed they for centuries,hence spaniards having darker skin......my point is that africans had a hand in something that the white race did wrong..........and as for the slave issue........the europeans stopped raiding inland looking for victims......they preferred to trade with the masters of 'slave cities' on the coast of africa.....these slave cities were set up and ran by the strongest african slaves......so in effect the black race has done just as bad to his own kind.........and dont forget it was the english that finally put a stop to the trading of new slaves by destroying these citie,watch the movie 'amistad....so the white race has done some good

There's nothing wrong with being proud of your race. Black people have the NAACP, Black History Month, and all that stuff. But when white people say something about being proud, we're suddenly racist. It's gone on forever, and it will continue to go on. I'm Irish, and DAMN proud of it. Does that make me racist against Germans or Italians or whatever? NO! It just makes me proud to be who I am.

And who's to say that without slavery their descendants would have made it to America anyway? We did receive thousands of ships worth of immigrants from all countries.

Different? Yes... Only 6 million Jews died at the hands of Germany. But 20 million Africans died as a result of the slave trade to the new world.

but I guess the ends justify the means... right? I mean what the hell, it was only 20 million

And who's to say that the course of African history would have been as it is today? They are one of the oldest inhabitants (the oldest I think) and had a proud heritage and also being rich in mineral resourses. Perhaps certain things happened throughout the course of history including the rape and plunder of their peoples with the slave trade and other outside influences later, not forgetting the so called AIDS epidemic of which origins are somewhat suspect, may have had an effect on their current situation.

Proof of 20 million?

The Trans-Atlantic Slave trade resulted in a vast and as yet still unknown loss of life for African captives both in and outside of America. Approximately 8 million Africans were killed during their storage, shipment and initial landing in the New World. The amount of life lost in the actual procurement of slaves remains a mystery but may equal or exceed the amount actually enslaved. If such a figure is to be believed, the total number of deaths would be between 16 and 20 million.

Sources I have seen go from 10 million to 60 million. I went with the low end number of 20 million.

Find some credible sources to refute the number...
