It's not dead, it's just not around so much.
My partner opens doors and give me his jacket and does lots of little things. he's not rude or stupid or anything, he's lovely.

So is my Mum's partner, he always opens the door, gives her a kiss and closes the door for the car, house, anything. It's quite sweet :)

I remember when Zorak gave me his coat when I was cold after we'd started going out. I wore it all the way home and the next day he told me he'd thrown up in the sleeve months before and never washed it.

I don't think it's completely dead, you get some men that are very chivalrous, others not so.

I once watched a movie where a gentleman took off his jacket and placed it over a puddle so his lady friend could walk over it without getting wet.....when I find a man who'll do that for me I'll know I've met my soul mate. Where the heck IS that guy?...lol
He died of pneumonia. :jk

Chivalry isn't as common as it used to be, but it's still around. The trick, I think, is to teach the boys before they become rude men. In my high school it's pretty common for even gang-banger thugs to help the lady teachers, but they treat the girl students like crap. I don't know how what kind of behavior that will develop into in the future.

Mostly dead. Very rare around here.

I always am polite, open doors, say excuse me, smile at people... most of the time I never get a response.

As far as guys being chivalrous... almost impossible to find unless they're older. Guys my age have no idea what manners are.

Thats when you say Your welcome really loud lol

even with my new seasonal job of delivering ice. I got to take a huge dolly full of ice into the store. And I still find my self holding the door for people at times. When people hold the door open for me I always say thank you very much, I appreciate it.

had a guy the other day that pissed me off. When I was coming out of the store with the dolly, the dude cut in front of me and stepped over the cart. I made sure to push it back a lil so his foot would hit the cart and trip. lol dont feel bad at all. fuck him.
