till you get comfortable enough to fart in front of her. Then you both forget chivalry even exists

:24::24: I know a couple who refuse to fart in front of each other and they have been married three years now :eek

Imagine the build up situation :yuk

Something that made me smile while coming back from dropping Jim off...

We live near a high school and we see kids on the sidewalk and streets pretty much all day long... Sometimes I wonder if any of them attend classes.... anyway....

Today while I was coming home I saw a 16ish girl and guy walking... it's down right cold here today snow... The guy takes his jacket off and puts it around the girls shoulders... I thought awww that was really sweet of the guy... So I guess it's not dead... just dormant in most of the population!

I always practice Chivlarly. always opening doors for Men and Women. Say excuse me when ever i see it fit. i even open the doors of my car/car i was in. for people. but most of the time women are mad because I a Man opened a door for a woman she gets mad at me because "shes a woman, women can do everything i man can do" but i still continue with the door opening and car door opening.even helping people carry that one extra bag that is to heavy. so in my case it is not dead but very alive. but other people yes. i find with the men usely hold a door or two.

Its not dead, just comes with alot of risk. Some girls get turned off by the nice guy. The girl I'm seeing now gets blown away when I open doors and pull her chair out. But I think it takes a girl that has been treated badly to really appreciate it. Cendall thinks its funny cause I always keep the doors locked on the whip so I can make sure she doesnt beat me to opening the door. Which lets me initiate the test. On our first date I unlocked the door and let her in, then on the way to my side I watched her reach over and unlock my door for me. Good woman right there. She's a keeper. :)

That's not necessarily 'chivalry' doll, it's just good manners. We all expect thank you's and excuse me's, it's what separates us from the animals, ya know? I've helped older ladies to their car with bags of groceries myself, why, because it's a nice thing to do, that's all. Chivalry, on the other hand, is a man's ability to treat a woman like royalty without her feeling that he's demeaning her in any way. For example....if a male co-worker suggests he take on a much more 'challenging' job because he's more equipped to succeed, being a man...then that would piss me off.....if a man whips out a rose from behind his back and opens the door for me with a smile, then that man, in my opinion, is a gentleman and he's behaving in this manner because he's been brought up to respect and adore women. I've never known a woman to scream at a man for generously holding a door open for her.....have you, really? .....and I'm not talking about on television, I'm talking real life here. ;)

Mmmmhmm agreed. and yes it did happen once but i guess the poor lady was having a bad day.

If you smile, and you're sincere, any woman would appreciate the gesture, I know that I would, and I consider myself to be a very independant individual. Speaking for women everywhere, I'm sorry if you were screamed at, but most women would not have treated you so poorly, your effort alone would have earned you a smile and a thank you from me, even if I was having a lousy day. As a matter of fact, considering how rare chivalry is these days, I think it would have cheered me up instantly.
