Ok, I know the rights and wrongs of the war have been debated to death here, we can't change the past. So, looking to the future how do you see the best way to go? Saddam was an evil dictactor but he kept the country together, all be it by tyranny. Now it's in a state now that fear has been lifted due to religious nut war lords. Personally I think the best way to achieve stability now is to have is split into two countries, a Sunni one and a Sheite one. What do you see as the answer?

It may have to go that direction Peter. 2 seperate states. For example, look at India. It went through a war and created 2 different countries, Pakistan and India because of religious differences

True. The thing that still does worry me about it though is the example of what happened in India and Pakistan, loads of genocide while there was mass migration. And unlike what happened there, Iraq dosen't have anyone like Ghandi who can really inspire peaceful solutions either, it's a headache, that's for sure!:(

I'm even sure if there was a Ghandi, he would be beheaded or recruited to Jihad...meh I really think it's such a lost cause... I just want all the guys back home, especially my friends.

It really reminds me in a lot of ways of N Ireland which has been going on for over 90 years, it's hard to get true peace while there are a bunch of religious extremists trying to kills each other. Like Iraq too, N Ireland was caused by my countries complete lack of understanding and by us causing ourselves to be hated so deeply.:(

But didn't the violence stop when Blair classified the IRA as a terrorist organization?

The IRA was classed as a terrorist organisation long before Blair. It was Maggie Thatcher's refusal to treat IRA and Loyalist prisoners as political prisoners which stirred up so much more hatred and led to the deaths by hunger strikes in the Maize prison. They stirred it up even worse by her refusal to back down. Maggie Thatcher was a cold hearted bitch with no understanding whatsoever in so many ways!:mad *spits on ground at mention of her name!*
