I know but I have no hard feelings toward someone smarter than me creating something everyone benefits from and makes a ton of money. I just look at someone who is gifted with a ball or a stick differently than someone who does good for everyone. A lot of athletes are lousy stewards of the money and their God given talent.

Look they create revenue for the league. They get compensated for that revenue by receiving a percentage of the profits through salary. Everyone is making money off these guys. TV execs, companies that advertise, owners, league officials. They're supposed to get their due. Pro sports is a lucrative business, and in order to keep the best product on the floor, the players expect to be rewarded. It's either these guys who get the money, or the rich get richer. Either way.

If I work in my present field for 40 years I might make $4,000,000. An Athlete can make 3 times that in one year because he can hit a ball or throw a ball. My work houses dozens of business every year.

when you're rich enough to own 2 or 3 private jets then you make too much fucking money for what you do... Tell me what a fucking Football player does that any joe blow with the same training couldn't do?

If everyone could do it, then there would be a lot more people in the business. There is no such thing as earning too much money. This is what pisses me off about Obama's income cap on Wall Street

But his work entertains 10's of millions, creates jobs at the stadiums, creates companies that develop promotional materials, creates advertising revenue for all media types and entertains under the paparazzi medium. Their day and support for the team does not begin and end with the game, it is a huge industry with a wide spread franchise and GDP producing revenue stream.

I don't want to cap anyone's income I just agree that athletes make way too much money for what they contribute to society.

Find a different business then? The entertainment business earns big bucks because people want to be entertained. They simply figured out how to market it.

I agree. His caps on free trade and tax penalties to the rich are going to do nothing but hamper growth.

I commend the people like Charles Barkley, Bo Jackson, Magic Johnson who turned that huge revenue stream into more. I just think about how many Mike Tysons of the world there are who are all but destitute after all the money he earned.

I have no problem with them making money like that.

It's all about the numbers. There is a small percentage of a percentage of athletes that can perform at the level they do.

If you turn it around, there are literally millions of people who can flip a burger, which equates to them not making a lot of money. Scarcity = demand = worth.

Supply and Demand at its most basic.
