The sofa is EVIL...it lies to you and tells you great stories of how much better for you it is than exercise. Don't be sucked in by it!!!

The gym I go to (or rather should be going to lol) is a neat place. It has three floors. The entry floor has a pool, treadmills etc., machines, free weights, dance/yoga room type thing, and this theater where you can do cardio while watching whatever film they're showing. Lower floor is basically all free weights with some cardio equipment. The top floor has racquetball and basketball courts.

It was a sweet deal too. In may, college students can sign up for a rate of $9 a month which is super cheap compared to the regular fee.

Even I would think about the gym for $9 a month.

Depends what your goals are. I spent an hour in the gym when i was a member as that is apparently the optimum time for those doing weight lifting. Anything more than 1 hour and your muscles start to burn out and you've just wasted 1 hour of your life. Of course if you have other plans in the gym like socialising or looking for a date, then spend all the time you want :naughty

Yeah it really depends what muscle parts you're working out that day. Plus there are so many exercises you can do for each body part. I usually work out an hour a day but if I need to catch on body parts that I missed it might do an hour and a half.

I went to a gym one day for testing it was like 1$, so I went there just for fun and I'm speaking for myself but exercising it's just not for me, i need to gain some more weight before going to it, i'm just skinny at the moment, although i'm trying to gain weight for a while, it's pretty hard. :/

Hours? I spend about 15 seconds, the time that takes cross along the entrance door when I go to take a walk.

I'm not a fitness fan, but if I would have to exercising, I would do it at home either with the aid of machines or in the old-fashion style. ;)

Yea, you definitely have to have some sort of goal, or going to the gym is going to feel aimless after a while.

I went for an hour. Split half of my hour for cardio, the other for weights.

I don't exercise every day, but if you broke it down to the average time per week I'd say probably 20 minutes per day.

If you work out hard enough, 500 - 600 calories, then an hour is just fine. You need to listen to your own body and do what is best for you. Like you said, she's very fit? You shouldn't be at the gym to compete with someone else. Take it at your own pace, while consistently challenging yourself and pushing yourself that little bit harder.

I used to speed an hour a day sometime back, now, I only go the gym 2 days a week for an hour each. Somehow have become very lazy. I have decided to combine gym with a good diet and I can see positive changes in my weight.

I spend at least 30 to 45 minutes per day at the gym, sometimes extending to an hour and a half tops, depending on my desire to exercise. If I enjoy lifting weights or simply toning my arms, the hours spent at the gym are worth it.

This depends on what muscle group I'm training that day. For example if I train delts and traps it will take me 50-60 minutes including the warm-up, if I'm training chest and triceps or back and biceps it will take me 70-80 minutes.
