Stop worrying about Christianity. Its modern form is a liberalized, stripped down faith that poses no real threat.

There are bigger fish to be wary of.

Sure. The old will be replaced by younger brighter minds though. it is happening as we speak but not fast enough for my taste.

The young are not near as gullible as the old generations.

So you're saying that younger people may turn away from religion, and this may be a problem in the longer term because no one would want to sustain it?

Eh, maybe religion will exist, just not have a great impact like it does today...who knows.

Religion is good in that it allows a bit of structure for people's lives and other benefits rah rah rah...but I wouldn't mind it pissed off right about now. We've had it, can we just get rid of it now, it's annoying lol lol.

Hmm I guess cause I don't believe in it. I used to believe in god, and once used to be a follower of all that 'New Age' stuff but I grew out of it. I won't hate anyone for following any of those things, but I just think it's all a bit fake to be honest.

Honey, you're bordering on my best argument when it comes to individuals who abuse what they think they know......Jesus didn't start those camps any more than Brad Pitt started the KKK. What you need to do is grow up and broaden your horizons, there's a great big beautiful world out there just itching to be experienced....now voyager go forward, spread your wings, fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.

SS

I am more aware than most as to the evolving perfection that we live in. I am also aware that it is those that have corrupted Jesus' message that created those Jesus camps.
If you do not see them as abuse of children then you have not learned the message that Jesus taught.

Being a Deist without a creator God, my focus is morals and I have.

They are brighter and less gullible but I think they have the same spiritual nature that we all do.
They will just have a better grasp of what is real and provable and what is fantasy and only speculation or wishes. I think they will gravitate to more of a Deist type of belief but without a miracle working sugar daddy that never sows his miracles or face.
A more sane belief in other words. They will embrace science as well as the beauty of myths and will not corrupt them with literalism.

would it really be so bad if all religion just went away?

I do not think so. Religions corruption is literalism. If we could kill that then we would see the beauty of human thinking the true worth of myth.

That would be better.

Apply Campbells thinking to Adam and Eve and see if theirs was a fall or a growing to adulthood.

Explain "evolving perfection". Sounds like new age stuff to me. If you look at society/humans as they are now, they are eons away from perfection.

If I think about the definition of perfection, I'd say the human race is far from it unless you are focused on a very human male perspective. ;)

"Perfection is, broadly, a state of completeness and flawlessness."

perfection has so many different definitions depending on ones point of view and perception.
