No it IS a waste of braincells to be THAT ignorant and uniformed. Of course you were joking, because I knew that you weren't that stupid to say something like that. Too bad people actually believe that stuff.

wait what does me having sex have anything to do with this?

I'm still trying to figure out what had you girlyboys in such a tizzy. I'm mean, SOME of my first two posts made sense. :smiley24: Like the thing about the Biblical high horse. AEF, I thought you'd be all over that. :cool

There were just some red herrings thrown in there.

And as far as you getting laid, that was just a blatant thread jack. ;)

I have no problem with love, no :)
Actually I don't even find it weird to see gay people making out. I think that's because it's becomming accepted and even now on the movies and shows you can see it which I think it's possitive.

Please dont tell me what I can and cant do because you dont know. I cant be bothered anymore with this thread because you are being completely unreasonable by trying to say without even ever having met me that you know me better than I know myself which is a complete load of rubbish and I doubt you will find one person on here either who would believe that either!
Well sorry but I agree with AEF. I think that maybe you can't say "I like it" and you will like it, but human beings are rational animals and we can rationally think about something and change our way of thinking and acting.

Two men in passionate embrace? There is nothing masculine about that, and there's no way to make it masculine. Therefore, "oogies" ensue. If you think that's silly, then you don't really understand masculinity as the essence of maleness.
that wasn't funny :p

I find it funny that this exact conversation could have happened 50 years ago concerning inter racial couples.
I'll bet it would have gone the same way.

Hell, there are still some places in the US that it's severely frowned upon and will garnish looks in public.

I know what you mean Tim, the same applies over here too. I have relatives who claim not to be racist but think its wrong to have inter racial relationships and severely frown on it.:wtf:

maybe the humor was a little too dry, but I just don't think it's masuline or manly to kiss another man. Call me crazy, call me a Neanderthal, Cro-Magnon knuckledragger, but it's not.

I'm not saying that I have a problem with it - I've already said from an ammoral standpoint, live and let live and no one should be persecuted for things like this (race, religion, orientation, etc).

But it's not manly to kiss another man. It's OK with me if that's how AEF et al wants to roll - their life. But it's not manly, it's womanly. And that's not a judgement, it's an observation.

So what exactly are the rules for being masculine? Drinking lots of beer, being unemotional and being good at fighting? You might think that makes you masculine but it certainly dosen't make you a better man!

I didn't see him say anything about it making you a better man. Ever see that beer commercial (can't remember the brand) where there's 3 dudes up on a roof about to repair it and 1 of them is afraid to climb any higher and says I'll just hand you the tools from here?

Ever see a grown man get upset at his sports team losing? Thats emotion my friend.

I figured when I replied to Maria there'd be the cries for the definition of masculine/manliness.

I'm not bassackwards knuckledragger, but I'm old school in some ways and progressive and liberal in others. I like to hold the doors for women, but I like to hold babies and caress them, too.

I think it would be too hard to cover every aspect of what "masculinity" is beyond a dictionary definition (which I posted), but I think liking women would be one of the bedrock requirements.

Here's something I cut and pasted on a couple of different forums. It's called the Biker's Creed, and there are some other versions of it as well. It's indigenous and simple, but it makes some good points, too.

THE BIKER CREED
I like domestic cars, motorcycles, and women.

I like hamburgers, fries and regular coffee, not coffee that tastes like pancakes or strawberries.

I like the smell of the mountains, my woman, and exhaust.

I like The Beatles, Steely Dan, and Hank Williams Jr. and don’t think it’s weird to listen to all of them in the same day.

I hate people who cause pain just for kicks.

I believe most people get what they deserve.

I think stores should be closed on Sunday so people can spend time with God, their families or whatever offers them comfort.

I believe you should say thank you whether someone saved your life or held a door open for you.

I don’t really trust men who exfoliate or are good dancers.

I’m often confused about sex but never sexually confused.

I miss Waylon Jennings, the World Trade Center and my Grandaddy.

I believe you should always be proud of your country, but not necessarily your government.

I believe in paying taxes, but I am thankful we don't get all the government we pay for.

I like people who are honest, even when they tell me stuff I’d rather not hear.

I am not jealous of those who have more than I do, and I don’t put down those who have less.

I believe most people do the best they can with what they’ve got, and sometimes just surviving is just as important as winning.

I think war veterans and school teachers deserve a lot more respect than they get.

I believe that if you’ve never failed you’ve never really tried.

Well there does seem to be an attitude where masculine = better man. I just find the whole thing about masculinety rather confusing is all. What does it entail and why, if it's indeed the things mentioned which some people seem to believe is it better?
I think the whole thing about how men are supposed to be like is extremely confusing these days. I just give up with it and say fuck it, I'll act like I like. I don't care if that does mean some people make jokes about me being gay. I'm so comfortable with my and everyone elses sexuality that jokes like that really dont bother me.
