i love when an argument degrades to a "you said this, you said that" kinda thing.

I hate religion too, the only reason i don't catch a ton of shit for it is because I don't post nearly as often as AEF does, and he usually sums up what I want to say pretty well.

my two cents

Debate Rule #1. If you say something that contradicts something you said earlier be prepared that someone else may remember what you said and prove it. Especially in a forum such as this and the evidence is available.

believe it or not I know what a debate is. I just think it's funny when that's what it comes down to.

um thats not a contradiction....a contradiction would be "I hate religion" and me later saying "I love religion!". Yes, I hate religion but all I did was restate my point using different words.

Call it what you wish. The fact of the matter is that you were trying to play down what you said by later saying you "dislike" religion when you clearly said earlier you "hate" religion. Different words yes to express the feeling, one invoking a much stronger feeling than the other.

Main Entry:
1dis·like
1: a feeling of aversion or disapproval

1hate
1 a: intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b: extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing <had a great hate of hard work>2: an object of hatred <a generation whose finest hate had been big business — F. L. Paxson>
