Truth be told, I think Americans are getting mis-represented. We are caring people, but they only know us by our governments actions. Anyone who comes from another country to live in America, usually loves it here. The people who were on its bad side. Talk shit like Peter up there. Sore losers I guess.

EXACTLY. And that's not the fault of our president, as bull-headed as he may be, or our foreign policies, as imperialistic as they may seem.

Great point, Boomz. I have met so many nationals from other countries that really do like it here and like Americans as a whole.

that kid is so cute :)
Why do people do that to kids? :(
He's more like beautiful. :)
And evil people do that. :( It's self perpetuating, sadly. And it happens everywhere - Middle East, Far East, American South, the North.

Some places are worse than others, though. (see pic at top of thread). I wish I knew what his headband said. Without coming across as preemptively judgemental, I wouldn't be the least surprised if it were something distinctly anti-American, whereas this American would love to grab that precious child up and kiss his chubby little cheeks and make him giggle.

*sad*

It is, but it happens in every part of the world.

And yet, there are people right now in Afghanistan and Iraq who are teaching their children:

"You have to love the people around you, no matter where they are from or what the people where they are from do. There is good in the world. Hate is bad, even hate for America. The fires from hate in the end will leave you only with ashes. Love is the answer."

Its almost like pissing in the wind my friend. This world is on its last limb bro.
I refuse to believe that. I have hope, and I believe hope is a good thing, as naive as it may be.

I believe there is good in every person I meet, and only get proven different on a case-by-case basis. :cool

The world is full of love. We just have to go looking for it. ;)

Dude why isn't he lighting it on fire?
I'm sure that would be in the next frame of the family photo album.

"here's little Aknad, pointing his play gun at the American pigs."
Aaaaaaaaw
"And here's his younger brother, Abdul, setting the flag on fire."
Aaaaaaaaw.

"You and Amir are really raising those kids right! You must be so proud. Death to the American dog invaders."

Yeah, but we are used to shielding ourselves from it as well.
I don't. I seek it out in others and embrace it when I see it. Remember how you and I got started off on the completely wrong foot? Now look at us - e-homeys! Getting ready to kick it old school in the spring! :joke: :Drunk_emoticon :alcoholic:

It's because we are both seekers of goodness, and there was exactly that in the both of us, even before we knew it. ;)
