The three top campaign donation recipients from Fannie Mae were all Democrats. Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) got $165,000, Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) was given $126,349, and failed presidential candidate Senator John Kerry (D-MA) took $111,000 from the folks at Fannie Mae. Is this information getting out there?

not on mainstream, 'legitimate' news channels.

wow. that's all i can really say.

now that they're belly up and we gotta bail them out, you think they'll give it back?

Who is he supposed to return the money to? That money was donated by 409 individuals that work for Fannie Mae. It was not Fannie Mae that donated it to him. You can go to the FEC website and see exactly where all these people are getting their money from, it's all public record. And according to the FEC Obama has received $93,199 from 409 employees of Fannie Mae. That averages out to $227 per donation. Only 11 people out of the 409 gave the maximum donation of $2300

Be careful where you get your information from... it's easy to make it sound like Obama has been getting money from Fannie Mae when that isn't the case at all.

And this is why you won't find this story on legitimate news stations... because it isn't legitimate news.

And if you ever want to see where the candidates are getting their money from... It's all right here <Clicky Me>

It is federal law that all donations are accounted for... Donors name and place of employment. So you can see how many employees for any company donated to any certain candidate.

now that just depends on what your definition of legitimate is.
if you believe everything that mainstream news reports
i gotta bridge to sell you.

maybe if more people did their own research instead of buying everything that katie fuckin couric tells them then we'd have a more educated group of people.

instead we have a bunch of cocky assholes who snub people who don't just sit on the sofa and watch the lil black box and believe everything that it tells you.

Well, there is a reason that these Fannie Mae officials donated to Democrats. It was because Democrats continued to stymie Republican efforts to fix these failing lending agencies. Democrats protected these rotten lending practices and the Fannie Mae executives knew who were the sugar daddies that needed greasing.

Do you not see that it's a bogus story?

When you donate to any candidate or political party, you must state your employment. But they are individuals that are donating, not the company. So when you say that Fannie Mae donated to the democrats, you are not correct. It was the employees that did. Big difference.

So again I ask, Who is he supposed to return the money to? Because he didn't get it from Fannie Mae....

Just out of sheer morbid curiosity Tim,

How much money did employees from these companies donate to Republicans?

Again, just morbid curiosity, nothing more

Do you honestly think it's the officials that donated here? Only a few gave the maximum amount and the majority of donations are $50.... sounds like a bunch of supporters to me, not some conspiracy...

It's a good point. I have donated enough money over the years to buy McCain another plastic surgery procedure, at least maybe a minor one:ninja

And recently enough to fund the Palin family condom supply efforts:D

I downloaded the information into a spreadsheet so it wasn't to tough to get the answer.

Obama = 409 individual donors
Clinton = 81
Dodd = 26
McCain = 13
Edwards = 11
Kucinich = 5
Paul = 4
Romney = 3
Giuliani = 2
Thompson = 2

and why is it bogus?
why is my story bogus and yours isn't?
that makes me giggle.
keep trusting what your government tells you.
question nothing.
ok.

Most of the top Fannie executives were also Democrats each of whom worked closely with Democratic presidents and Barack Obama. Franklin Raines, Clinton White House budget director, ran Fannie Mae and pocketed $50 million. Jamie Gorelick was a Clinton Justice Department Official (famous for adding to our intelligence failures helping cause the attacks on 9/11) was paid $26 million. Jim Johnson, who most recently served on Obama’s VP search committee, was the CEO of Fannie Mae and has also made millions. These Clinton/Obama associates sat at the head of a failing financial agency all the while raking in millions and donating hundreds of thousands to top Democrats.
