Germany 1940 - Israel 2009

I can just imagine the conversations when they were creating Israel...

"Ya know, let's just take some land from the Arabs and give it to the Jews. Those Arabs are peaceful guys, they won't mind. And they have nothing against the Jews."

Seriously, why didn't they give the Jews GERMANY? Could've had the Berlin Wailing Wall :humm:

I dont have a problem with the creation of Israel.
I just think they should rethink how they treat the Palestinians.

Might help if the Palestinians quit strapping on bombs and setting them off killing innocents.

And if some of the countries would give up on the idea of driving Israel into the sea. ;)

Those are tired old arguements.

For one. If you stop the oppression(or repression) you stop the main impetus for those idiots strapping on those bombs..

Just exactly how are the Palestinians going to drive Israel into the sea?
With rocks, AK-47s, and suicide bombers against tanks, helicopters, smart bombs?
Israel has the best weapons that American tax dollars can buy yet they still cant solve that nagging little Palestinian problem for decades now.

Maybe, just maybe, there is a better approach.

With all due respect that is bullshit

I am really not all that fond of the whole region but Israel is surrounded by those who want them eliminated. Iran and Syria being the big players.

How is it that you don't see people from Egypt strapping bombs and hitting the streets in Israel. Same with Jordan.

Israel will make peace with those who want it. They have proven that. Arafat had a chance and blew it. The Palestinians want Israel. They think if they will just attack like gnats that it will break Israels will. Maybe they are right. They sure don't seem to be looking for peace.

Israel has not been attacked by another country since the 70s.

How does this justify in any way the Israeli government's treatment of the Palestinians?
Speaking of bombs, Would you care to speculate the ratio of bombs delivered between Israel's armed forces and the Palestinian suicide bombers? How about the number of civilian casualties?
What ratio do you find acceptable?
10 to 1?
100 to 1?
1000 to 1?

All I am saying is that Israel's policies are not working and they need to change how they deal with this unending problem.

So bombing the shit out of the Gaza strip, killing thousands of Palestinians, then blockading it was an act of self defense?

I don't agree with all of Israel's actions.

What are the Israeli's really supposed to do though? Should they wait around until suicide bombers stroll into the country and kill innocents? Should they idly wait until rockets fall from the sky?

They have a choice to either battle their enemies on their own turf, or elsewhere. Which do you suppose they are going to choose?

I wouldn't exactly vindicate the Palestinians either. Suicide bombers from the Palestinian side don't seem to hesitate much before they blow themselves up in a market full of innocents.

An old saying comes to mind.
It's hard to kill a fly with a sledge hammer.

The Israeli government is not using the right tool for the job at hand.
All they have done is piss off and alienate themselves from their neighbors even more.

If both sides truly wanted peace, we'd have it. The Israeli's, Palestinians, and other Arab neighbors haven't reconciled the issue because of faults on all sides.
