I have smoked pot once in my life (if 3 hits count??) and drink occasionally but not much when I do! I usually drink maybe one beer a week or so...

other than that none for me... if I get tested with anything in my system I lose my nursing license so even if I wanted to I can't!
Good for you :) Thatd suck to lose your job over shit like that.

Personally, I have nothing for grass, or any of the other narcotics.

I tried grass in high school, and honestly didn't see what the big deal was, laughed, got hungry....Went to sleep
Sex has the same effect and it's always readily available and legal.

However, pot, why not just go ahead and legalize it?

I mean fuck, if anything the cartels in mexico will have to find legitimate jobs....Probably here

Lol! I agree- don't treat a medical problem as a legal one. They tried it in prohibition and it definitely did not work for alcohol. They might as well wise up and put the cartels out of business and increase tax revenue in the process.

Never smoked anything actually. I don't care if people want to do it, as long as they aren't endangering other people by doing so. I think they're kind of stupid for doing so, just because they are putting themselves at risk of addiction, but hey, it's a personal choice, and if they want to take that risk, it's up to them.

I wouldn't really have a problem with legalizing more drugs that are currently illegal, just so long as it would decrease (not increase) crime, and wouldn't cause more harm to other people. Heck, maybe it'd even help some of the really stupid people remove themselves from the gene pool! ;)

Meh, I've never done anything more serious than alcohol.

Alot of my mates smoke weed now, some quite regularly. My best mate will smoke it about 3+ times a week now. He isn't really doing anything with his life (didn't pass year 12, not even working full-time), not to say he doesn't have any aspirations. He always goes on about cool stuff he wants to do and how he is gonna save up all his money and do... etc. etc.

Considering he spends more than $75 on weed a week, not to mention the money he spends on random shit while he is high - (He only earns about $220.00 a week) I don't see him getting anywhere in life to be honest. Nor is he very motivated anymore.

I know people who are more serious users. But seeing your best mate turn into a pot head when he could of been so much more kinda puts you off drugs like that for the rest of your life.

Just my viewpoint, I'm not judgemental of what other people do.

I know what you mean. I was the only one of the group i hung out with to graduate highschool. The drugs i could take or leave. Once I was in college, I quit hanging out with those guys, and never really did any drugs after that. Most of my former friends are either dead or in jail.

We waste too much money putting people who smoke weed on trial and incarcerating them compared to the damage the drug does. Meth and other harder drugs like that are a different story, but there is no need for weed to be illegal, especially when alcohol which is a much more potentially dangerous drug is legal.

Thats where I see the problem and these people should be held accountable to their actions. They should be forced to get help. I personally, like a lot of people who smoke weed, only smoke it a couple of times a month at most so no real problem. Compare that to how many people have a problem of one sort or the other with a legal drug called alcohol.

A pretty much balanced view which I only disagree on slightly. I just think that people on hard drugs should be punished for the crimes they commit under the influence and not the drug itself. However, the influence of the drug shouldn't be an excuse for a lenient sentence, under the law, like it is at the moment. People should be given the responsibility to make these decisions for themself and take the full consequences too.

I can agree with that, however, I do think there is a handful of drugs like Heroin and Meth that are worth the time going after. We'd have allot more time and funds if our police force was not so busy with coke and weed. Some drugs do just way too much damage. And yes, for allot of drugs, if they stay within the law other then doing the drug in the first place, what's the deal?

I agree with for the simple fact it would be a huge breakthough in our out of touch government. Over here, after years of trying they declassified Cannabis from a class B to a C drug. Now Gordon the cunt Brown has put it back to a class B drug against the advice of experts he paid a fortune for their opinion. It makes little difference to me, I can buy cannabis and cocaine easier that alcohol and tobacco, cant get them delivered to my door at any time within 30 minutes. All I can do is shake my head at this pitiful man and yet another way he is trying to flush our country down the toilet. :(

I did weed at random throughout high school and until I was 21... haven't touched it since.

I occasionally drink... but usually never more than 3.

i have never tried anything other than marlbro lights and drinking. i have been around many many people who have done drugs but i never had the desire too. i dont knock anyone who has, we all make choices, but will agree that cigarettes and alcohol are drugs as well, just legal. also i grew up in a very very small town where everyone knew if you took a shit. my mom was a teacher and dad a cop so i was too scared to try anything growing up. when i got older just never wanted to. and my other 2 cents, i do think they should make pot legal and tax it!

I wish Phelps had thumbed his nose at everybody and told em to fuck off rather than apologize. The guy is already rich beyond belief and seems well grounded so he is set for life
