it is kind of sad how we humans just generalize, isnt it?
and yes, i did it too in that question :dunno
warning: long read, or so it seems...
but to me, i dont really give a flying shit. nor to i take one. its a matter of perspective. i was taught at the impressionable age that there is a higher being by the name of god. it made sense to me then. i lived a sheltered life ( my mother continues to deny such statements, but she knows it to be true )... thus, i was not really able to see the bad side of life. once i did though, things started to not add up. like, why, if god loves everyone, why does he let so many do as they "chose" to kill themselves or others, or severely harm themselves or others, or drink themselves up to the point of death, but not dying. or let diseases come to fruitation. doesnt add up " oh, god lets those things happen as a way of punishment for adam and eve's choice to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree" ...
ok, fine. 2 things though:
1 - why the fuck would god put the descendants through hell on earth because of someone else's disobedience? doesnt add up.
2 - why the fuck would god put the damn tree in the fucking garden for the temptation to be present? doesnt make sense - " dont eat from the tree over there, the fruit looks the best you will ever see, but you must not eat from its branches" ...
----------
some other things:
sinning is not of the devil's choice. he just presents an alternative. so why should he get punished? he didnt actually do the deed... doesnt add up.
and if the devil is the arch enemy of god, and god created everything, god must have created the devil. so, before the devil was around, there must have been some form of evil in his structure of whatever the fuck he is. yet, god is perfect. he is not evil. doesnt add up here.
and on that, if god knows everything, why should he give us a choice? that would not make it real free will. one choice is good. the other is bad. that is not free will, becuase there is the consequence factor. what will happen if i choose this choice? fear. its a great motivator. but...
fear does not equal free will. big fucking hole in that religion. fear is supposed to push you to the "right" decision. but how do you know what is right, after learning about that?
doesnt add up.
so, i do not believe there is any higher being. if i am wrong ( whatever wrong is ) i shall find out after i die, and then i will not be able to change my mind ( the factor of fear again )... doesnt add up
and before you say, well, thats just christianity as proposed by the protestant ideals... why dont you go to another religious sector? well..
all religions have the element of fear tin order to garnish your support in whatever the highest ranking officer wants to do. this is the real reason for religion. it is just another fucking word for government.
sorry for the long write up... i need the tokies, and needed to blow off some steam from some times ago. again, sorry. it is not meant to disembowel you from your current religious beliefs. it is merely my views.
