This is gonna sound rude typed - it's not supposed to be :) but why wouldn't you care?? I live in Canada too. It doesn't 100% directly have an impact on us or our country but it definately has an impact indirectly in a HUGE way.
:Dnot rude at all...actually to be honest after I typed that out I thought the same as you...just never got around to changing it....but you know, regardless of Mccain or Barack I think we'll end up with the same crap from the US as we have always had. Its our leadership that needs to be better so we don't need to care as much as we do.

But as soon as a white person votes for a white person for the same reason, you liberals are ready to villainize the person as a racist--you throw the race card around so often that you perpetuate the divides that exist!

More BS. Us liberals? (sigh...)

That made no sense whatsoever. How are Blacks more racist simply because an entertainment company based around their culture was founded out of the control of the general African American population's hands?

A good portion of America cares. Mostly people over 50.

What does that mean? (I really don't know.)

Gotta love ignorance.

What I find incredibly scary is we've got millions out there prepared to vote for a party that beyond getting their vote, truly does not give a damn about them as individuals. And I'm not talking about the Democrats. :)

That's funny--because unless you are in a union or living off government benefits, the Democrats are going to raise your taxes and send jobs out of the country--how in the hell does that help the majority of American (the vast majority of which are not union communists or living off government benefits?)

Wow, thank you for that truly informative post...

Why don't you make yourself a little chart so you can compare the state of the country compared to which party was in power. Maybe it will enlighten you a bit.

The republican party of the past had the right message, they weren't very good at getting it right in practice, but they at least had a good plan. But the republican party of today is no where near that in principal. Government is bigger today than it's ever been. Sure, republicans don't raise taxes, but they also don't pay for the trillions they spend. They just leave it to the next administration. $600 billion deficit, yeah, that's responsible governance. How the hell can you talk about the fiscal shortcomings of the democrats when you have this ass clown in office?
Democrats going to raise your taxes? Would you like to back that up? And I don't mean these jokes that McCain is using for commercials. I'd like you to comb through Obama's economic plan and show me where he is going to raise our taxes instead of just throwing out played out republican talking points.

It just goes to show that when it comes to politics, no matter how much a disaster or tragedy the leadership has been, the the party-philosophic-sales people are out in full force telling you what a disaster the other party will be and oh, they are communists too. All that's necessary is the 7.5 year Men In Black Memory Wipe. :)

Don't believe I have said I am in favor of much they have done. And I agree that they have done a lot wrong.

The difference is I am not consumed with hatred over what Bush has done.

I apologize then. But I'd like you to know I am not consumed with hatred, just very very worried about where this country is headed.

Something else, if you're young, if you have 30+ years left to go, I really wonder what kind of economic future you'll be facing, hopefully a good one, but not with the leadership we've had for the last 2 terms. And half of the country voted for this President based on his values while prominent members of his team and party raped and pillaged the market place and cheered when he started an unnecessary war. Something really to think about imo.

Most old people are racist in one degree or another. Its how most of them were raised.

It might be more prevalent in older people, because tolerance today seems to be improved over the past, but you can't knowledgeably tell me the young people are immune to prejudice, can you?

Let me enlighten you a bit.

Which of the tripartite bodies of our government is responsible for approving budgets (i.e. spending)?

Which party took over Congress in 1992?

What happened to the economy and the deficit after that party took over Congress in 1992?

Which party took over Congress in 2006?

What has happened to the economy since 2006?

Answer all those questions and then consider yourself enlightened.

You can't be serious? I'll bet any amount of money you want that if Obama gets elected, he will raise taxes on most Americans. Only a candidate that doesn't want to get elected will actually tell people he'll raise their taxes if you vote for him!

Finally--do you believe Obama has enough experience to be the leader of the Free World? If so, what experience would that be?

Lemme ask you something:

Do you not believe there has to be to a degree some amount of taxation to offset the damage done to the economy?

Where will we get the money to replace the giant hole? That's something I could never figure out about the republican approach, you just wanna give and give and give away all the money, absolutely no thought at all about the future, just the four years you got to squander.

And don't stand on this "democrats have had the power and just fucked it up" the right has railroaded every attempt to bring this country back in line financially, Bush simpl is going to make sure all the folks that put him in office get what's coming to them, and he's doing it by sending young people home in body bags so KBR can make custom embroidered towels for a morale boost.

I hope you are all happy, he's your fucking president, he ain't mine. Oh and I can say that too btw without being labled un-American;)

Bravo. And there's Halliburten filling up local school buses with school supplies in Houston, because they are such a generous, people oriented company. It's easy to be generous with several thousand when you've made billions facilitating war, the ability given to you with a no-bid contract because the VP is your former boss. Unsubstantiated bills paid by the millions is such a sweet deal. But who's looking out for the tax payers?

The republicans are just a lesser version of the democrats when it comes to taxes. none of the parties wants to down size govt other than the libertarians. the govt on all levels is so over bloated it is fucking ridiculous. We can not continue the same degree of govt programs.

We have an increase in tax revenue every year and the govt gobbles it up and then some. If there was a 3 year freeze on spending it would go a long way to restoring order. Fat chance of that happening as the govt is a beast that never is satisfied and always wants more, more , more.
