I find it worrying that nearly half the people in this poll think evolution is a fact. it's a theory and however plausible it might sound to you, there isn't enough hard evidence to make it a fact.
sounds like the GOD theory as well![]()
I would like to partake of the conversation regarding the issue at hand, but unfortunately, as I have long ago discovered, I am not smart enough for the poll, less any discussion.

Exactly! They are both just theories, no one knows for certain how we got here. I understand people leaning toward one view or the other and the've done well here to debate it and back it up with evidence to support their view. But no one can show solid enough evidence to prove that their view is a fact.
I agree sir!

Yes, its a theory, just like gravity. Or how the earth revolves around the sun.I find it worrying that nearly half the people in this poll think evolution is a fact. it's a theory and however plausible it might sound to you, there isn't enough hard evidence to make it a fact.

One is a scientific theory .
Exactly, it's a theory, not a fact. If it was a fact, there wouldn't be debates among rational and intelligent people, like this going on.![]()
The sun rising tomorrow isn't even a fact, it's just so likely we consider it to be one. My point was the evolution (as the origins of the world) is a theory in a totally different way than god is a theory. They are both theories but are different definitions of a theory.
Ok then, by your logic we can't say that the earth really revolves around the sun, since theres "not enough evidence for it". Same for gravity. You keep telling yourself that, dude, it changes nothing.![]()
There's no such thing as "fact" in the scientific world. Only theories with A LOT of evidence for them.Exactly, it's a theory, not a fact. If it was a fact, there wouldn't be debates among rational and intelligent people, like this going on.![]()
Yeah but most of those people are scientifically illiterate.I'd say the results in this poll shows that people dont consider evolution is so likely it's a fact, given that over half the votes are not for it being a fact.![]()

Those people would be wrong.Start a debate about those things, I doubt, unlike this one, that anyone would argue with you.![]()

All macroevolution is, is a bunch of microevolutionary events that are cumulative.I don't consider it to be a fact. Microevolution is a fact because we've directly observed it. Macroevolution is too vague and too unobservable right now to be considered fact.
