What does California's deficit have to do with this thread? In fact, how should the problems of one state trump issues that affect the entire nation? Quit regurgitating shit you see on someone's blog and hoping it's relevant.
LMAO. I was waiting for your response. A big state like Cali is as bad as nations of similar size going bankrupt. Solve your domestic problems first before imposing double standards on the foreign detainees. The rest of the world wont just sit by and watch the big bully. There will be repurcussions.
Repercussions? Please, tell me in detail what the rest of the world is going to do about California's financial situation or our treatment of the detainees. Both of these problems have been going on for several years, and I haven't seen any serious worldwide repercussions.
And for the record, I've said that the "double standards on the foreign detainees" is wrong and immoral.

We have in Singapore what is known as Internal Security Act which spells out detention without trial and thats solely for our citizens. The answer to your question is pretty obvious if you have read my posts.

Back to the subject, I'm sure that holding political prisoners may be the norm in Singapore, but it goes against what we consider The American Way.

A teacher can also specialize in legal framework. We are not a free country like USA, so we dont suscribe to the American way.
For all his faults, and they were many, Bush wasn't a hypocrite. He considered the terrorists in Gitmo as prisoners of war and treated them as such. Obama claims they deserve all the rights we have in the US, but he's not following through on it. We think it's a very big deal indeed when our president shows disrespect and disdain for our legal system. Our culture places the citizen above the government. Completely foreign concept for you, I'm sure, but that's us.
To put on a farce of a trial, while never intending to honor the decisions of that trial, is grounds to toss the president out of office. I only wish our legislature honored our constitution to do their duty.
